I'm back! Got a chance to take a polaroid photo with her, got her signatures, and.... took pictures of her! My position wasn't exactly great, and coupling the fact that I didn't have a really awesome camera... The following pictures were the best I could do. (:

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 9

Now that Mavis has taken up a big case, there's more Tavia screentime~ And of course, many things and changes happen between the leads (:

Of course the next day, Barrister Gill scolds Chima for being impulse for attempting to hit Iris and told him that whatever he has done so far, like getting Chima in the spotlight and everything is his method of doing things. Chima says that he really wants to get out to take care of his dying grandma, and Gill agreed to help. Of course, at court, Mavis was really determined to keep him under guard and succeeded because of the fact that Chima went to harass Iris.

Over here, we have new characters, Cheung Yuk-ying (Yvonne Ho) and Fung Kit-lai (Angelina Lo) and apparently they were chosen to be the jury for a case. Kit-lai lost her way, Yuk-ying helped her and they quickly became friends. Apparently, they are chosen not based on their willingness to do it, but on random. And if they are shortlisted, they would need to go to court. Then subsequently, the accused has the authority to reject 5 times the people they feel would not help them in their case (in other words, display biasness). Finally, 7 of them were chosen, other than Yuk-ying and Kit-lai, there are Law Sum (Joseph Lee), So Wai-kuen (Lau Kong), Hui Kwok-ching (Lo Ho-kai), Leo (Vin Choi), Bobo (Angel Chiang). They chose Law Sum to be their team leader because of his analytical and leadership skills. There are many steps and procedures to follow as a jury, and it is actually not as simple as we thought after all. I find this really amazing, I mean, we have never seen things from a Jury point of view before! And, this is what made me like the drama more than I already did. (:

Finally, the trial for the case started. Iris was the first summoned witness, and from her point of view of the story, it went like.. First, Iris was having a birthday party at a bar, then she got harassed by a male fan and Chima happened to be around and saved her. Chima took the chance and gave her a birthday gift. Next, Iris was drinking and she saw Chima going into the pub too, and she didn't know why he would be in there because the place can only be entered based on invitation. Iris found Chima suspicious, but ignored him because she thought she is just another male fan, and on the account that he saved her just now. Third, Iris got pretty drunk, she was supposed to be sent home by an assistant, but he was equally drunk. Forth, Chima came by, and decided to bring Iris home. Iris found it weird that he knew where she lived. Finally, he went into her house with her, and raped her while she was drunk. Damn. Then the boyfriend Tony (Francis Huynh) came back while she and Chima were arguing, and they called the police. I'm not sure, Chima looks innocent, but.. why would she accuse him of rape at the risk of her status? She's a public figure after-all. Who's speaking the truth, who is not?

After the first session, we see a little back story of the jury (Wai-kuen and Kwok-ching's). Wai-kuen has a pregnant daughter, while Kwok-ching is busy trying to save his seat in the company. Kit-lai went home, and here, Wai King-sang (Stephen Kwok) appears, and he was complaining how hard his life was when Kit-lai went for her jury work. King-sang wanted to get some information about the case, but Kit-lai insists that such things should not be leaked if not they will be sued for discriminating the court. Then, it turns out that the son Kit-lai has been talking about is actually James! James' father came out of the bathroom covered with cloth, he told James to go up to the flat owner above to rush him to get the toilet fixed because there's always water dripping in the toilet. But when James went up, being a very soft hearted person he is, he actually offered to give the owner more money after trying to get sympathy, but of course, stopped by King-sang in time before he got cheated. Back home he scolded James for being too easily misled, and said that he is the first lawyer to be such a failure etc etc. In addition, Kit-lai has always been giving allowance to James despite his age, James felt really bad but he still accepted it because he doesn't have much savings. James told Kit-lai the prosecutor of the case she is involved in is Mavis and is his friend. Kit-lai had praises for her and immediately thought that she is his girlfriend. HAHAHA typical mothers! I like their chemistry as mother and son too! :D

Case #10: Remember the time when Michael hit someone at the bar? Michael is officially charged. Because Mavis is still angry at Michael and refused to help him, James and Keith were the witness and were not convenient to help him. Wallace was like,"Oh? Your wife is a barrister too?" and Keith was like,"Yah, Mavis Hong!" And the look on Wallace's face (because he didn't know Mavis had a husband and he is actually Michael). Keith added,"Ex-wife.." He immediately told Michael he would take up his case, and the stare Keith gave Wallace was really annoying (HAHA). Of course, Keith could tell Wallace intentions of accepting Michael's case, trying to get more information about Mavis. Wallace scolds Keith for saying it as if he is trying to seduce somebody's wife, and expresses that he is truly concerned for Michael. Keith told Wallace to be hardworking and start taking notes on Mavis, like how she likes to do gym, like to eat potato chips (DAMN, Keith understands Mavis so well omgggggg)

Back to the raping case, now it's Chima's turn to say his side of the story, and god, it's totally different. (and I was really disturbed here.) What Chima said was.. First, Iris was having a birthday party at a bar, then she got harassed by a male fan and Chima happened to be around and saved her. Chima took the chance and gave her a birthday gift. Next, Iris invited Chima to her birthday party and he got in. And while Chima was alone, Iris kept giving her seductive stares, and Chima went to her with 2 glasses of wine. Third, Iris got pretty drunk, she was supposed to be sent home by an assistant, but he was equally drunk. Forth, Chima came by, and decided to bring Iris home (and she seduced him) Fifth, he went into her house with her, he was about to leave until Iris actually closed the door and told him that she wants to know how it feels to be forced upon on. And they had sex. Finally, Iris took Chima's wallet and wanted to take money out, and told him that there's no free lunch. Chima refused because she is his goddess and he doesn't wish to see her be such a loose woman who goes around sleeping for money. Then Tony came back while she and Chima were arguing, Iris accused him for raping her and they called the police. Of course, when Chima said his point of view, he was very upset that his goddess is actually such a person. I already said, Iris is not as innocent as we think!

When Kit-lai was on her way home, she saw an old lady and an owner at the fruits store arguing. What happened was, the old lady said that he gave him a 500 dollar note, but the owner insisted that he didn't take the 500 note, he even showed her his cash box and there was really no 500 dollar note around. He told her that he would help her find the note and chased her away. But when the old lady turned her back around, the owner went back to his own stall to continue her business. Kit-lai was troubled by that and consulted James about it. James said that one shouldn't tell things just purely based on looks. The old lady might look innocent, but things might not be as simple as thought. James told Kit-lai to analyse properly, and follow her heart.

Back in the court, the judge told the jury not to be too affected by the mass media that were reporting the news (because they might be biased), and of course, Mavis was determined to get Chima jailed based on the evidence. The judge also added that in order for Chima to be proven guilty, the jury would need to have votes of at least 5 vs 2. And back in the jury room, it was obvious the younger ones think that Iris is not as innocent as she looks, while Kwok-ching seems to be in a rush of time so he decided to follow the crowd and voted for "guilty" (what the hell right I know), when it reached Kit-lai's turn, she actually said that she feels that Chima is innocent. Because, she is very confused by all the statements and she really cannot tell who is actually telling the truth.

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 8

And so.. we get new cases!

The episode starts with everyone looking sad, and Man-wai turns up not knowing anything and judging from their expressions she thought they had lost the case. But in actual fact, they had won (Wing-choi couldn't take it and started laughing). As they said, thanks to Keith everyone is fine, and of course, Wallace doesn't lose out and mentioned that he put in a lot of hard work too~!

Back in Wallace's company, they had a celebration party and An-gor says that Helen and Wing-fu have been caught by the police and they would receive their trial soon. Kai-hong announces that Wallace would be aiming for the barrister license. Of which, Wallace himself has no intention to. Kai-hong explains that it's really good to have a barrister around after going through this ordeal. And in order no to disappoint his father, we could see that Wallace was forcing his smile and lied that he has intention to get a barrister license. Everyone "disapproved" and Danny told Wallace to rethink because he would need to shut the company down if he did so, and this would cause everyone in the company to be out of job. Of course, the way they said it was so joking-ly, and Keith's expressions were win. HAHA.

After that in Keith's office, An-gor and him decided to make fun of Wallace. Keith passed Clayton's court robes to him and said a bunch of things that a barrister should do, Wallace got annoyed and told them to stop playing around. Keith said,"Your dad doesn't seem to be playing around, he is serious about it." Wallace says he currently doesn't have intentions to get a barrister license, of which Keith said that if he were to get one, he would have already gotten one long ago.

Just then, Mavis enters the room to discuss some financial matters with Keith, saw Wallace and told him that she has heard about his intention to switch to a barrister. Wallace looked so happy by the way, haha. After that Mavis patted Wallace's shoulders and said,"Well, I think you can do it." Wallace was of course elated and he said,"I'm going to put on a good show, for her." Keith couldn't believe that Wallace could be affected so greatly over a sentence. An-gor told him to re-think because if he pursues his career as a barrister, everyone in the company would be jobless. Then Keith adds,"Your friend views lust over friends."

Then they finished their "meeting" and left Keith's room, and smelt something that stank really badly (for Wallace and Keith's case that is). Turns out that Wai-tung came up with fermented beancurd and is looking for James. (That pissed Keith off really badly because he stepped on a beancurd that was lying around). James came back, and actually Wai-tung came by to tell James that he wants to increase the amount to claim from the government for wrongly putting him into jail. Of course, Wai-tung's requests get more and more ridiculous, James couldn't take it anymore and reprimanded him, and told him not to be too greedy. And.. they fell out.

Keith heard the quarrel, and went with James for a drink. James felt sad for yelling at Wai-tung, because they were friends after-all and his intention was to pretend to be busy and "chase" Wai-tung away, but now he lost a friend just because of something like that. The aircon in the bar was dripping water and Keith became a victim, he went to the toilet while James switched seats. He saw Michael trying to chat with a girl who rejected him. Moments later, Michael got into a fight with a guy (who is a boyfriend of the girl Michael was trying to chat with), and James witnessed the incident. Keith came back and asked what happened, and James said that he would be the witness and help the other party. Keith said that Michael is actually Mavis' ex-husband. I wonder if James really saw it because he only saw how Michael chatted with the girl but didn't actually see how the fight started..

Of course, Michael called Mavis in the middle of the night and said that he was caught by the police, and James apologized to Mavis he didn't know Michael is the ex and went ahead to be the witness.. and it seems that Mavis doesn't bother at all after finding out that the injured had suffered serious injuries. She even told James that it is right he stand up to be the witness. When Mavis left, James told Keith that her ex-husband is unlucky to have met him. HAHA. Mavis was really angry and reprimanded Michael for going out to drink again. He explains that he only started fighting because he felt humiliated by the other party.

Mavis offered to give Keith and James a ride home and told them to wait because Michael came out and pestered her. She doesn't want to help him anymore because it was his fault for drinking and she is angry that he still refuses to quit drinking even after divorce, and they quarreled really badly and halfway Keith quietly told James that he wants to leave for a taxi and said that if not they were going to drink and didn't have a car they wouldn't need a ride (very responsible. now, everyone who drinks needs to be like this okay.) In addition, if they stayed they don't even know how long more would they be quarreling. James said just be nice and wait. HAHA so Keith told James he can be the good guy, while he leaves. But before Keith could leave, Mavis was already coming their way and offered to bring them home.

In the car, Keith started saying how Mavis should not blame Michael for going to drink, it's not as if he went to kill someone. Mavis retorted by saying that a lot of criminal cases were caused by drinking. So Keith tried to be funny and said,"Ya, liver failure, blood loss etc etc were all caused by drinking." Mavis just feels that, causing trouble after drinking is simply not right. But Keith said that Michael said that the girl fell down on her own, it wasn't even his fault, but Mavis begged to differ. They quarreled (and almost rushed through the red traffic light). Then to stop the quarrel James went to turn up the volume of the radio (not sure if it's intentional or not, he said he wanted to tune to another channel.) By the way, Keith keeps eating a pack of mint, I wonder what is the point of that. I have seen it appearing a few times and I still couldn't get it. Initially I thought he just liked to eat sweets before a case (sweets make your brain think better). I actually enjoy it when Mavis and Keith quarrel *here you go again*.

Case #9 (big case): Next we get a scene of Iris Wong (Aimee Chan) getting... raped by Chima (Bitto). She looked really happy though? Sorry, I was really disturbed by this scene by the way. Then, the next day it made it to the headlines. Turns out that she is an up and coming celebrity and to protect her privacy the image was silhouetted. They were gossiping about it in the office and trying to guess who was the victim and it turns out that Mavis has gotten the case to be the prosecutor. Mavis say there is enough information to charge Chima, because there were drugs found in Iris' drink, even though Chima didn't admit to putting any form of drugs. Of course, they are not allowed to get near to both parties, and they could only fight the case based on the information the police give to ensure a fair trial.

After that, Big C was feeling troubled in the gantry because she felt bored and had no idea how to approach the case with the little little information they had. She envied Norman for being able to go around and learn about things while all she did is just stare at the files in the office. Norman said that Keith always say that they have to find evidence on their own because the evidence would not come flying to them. Keith came by and Big C asked Keith that when he was a police, was it very satisfying to find evidence. And Keith said yes, but it's different when he became a barrister as he has to be careful about many things, and with lesser info it might not be a bad thing as there is more space for imagination. After that, Keith offered to treat Big C to curry and off they went.

When they were there, Norman asked,"So are we going to pose as police or reporter today?" and Big C was like,"There's a need for roleplay?!" Keith approached an Indian called Mr. Gahal at a restaurant and it turns out that he and Keith are friends, Gahal brought them up to Chima's residence and told them about him. It turns out that Chima had a bad relationship with Iris' mother and constantly quarreled, almost getting into a fight. Gahal said that Chima had to start working since he was really young in order to rear his family, so he worked freelance. Subsequently they found out from Gahal's employee that Chima has always been taking pictures and following Iris when she returns home.

Big C was so happy to have collected so many information and learnt so much from Keith. While she was expressing her excitement to Norman, Mavis came back and heard everything. Big C knows that she is in big trouble for going over the limit of finding evidence on her own and gave her a big lecture. She told her that if she likes to find evidence so much, go to a police school instead, and just then Keith came in and explained to Mavis that he only brought her out to see the world, and treated her to some curry. It just so happened (ya right) that Gahal knew Chima. Mavis told Big C to switch mentor and Big C was so upset, said that it's her fault, do not quarrel anymore but Mavis continued to reprimand Keith that his method is wrong and he would lead her astray if she learns anything from her. Keith doesn't feel that he is wrong at all, and left the room. OH.

*i forgot to take screenshots* but anyway, Chima met Iris at the police station (by chance), he got angry and attacked her, and said things like,"Why did you malign me!"

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 7

The bribery case at its peak! And... Mavis continues to be a calafare in this episode..

Because Wallace have been unable to produce evidence to prove their innocence, and the other party's statements have no suspicions, they lost the case and were proven guilty. But Kai-hong and Wing-choi are really innocent, they applied for bail and appeal. Thank goodness it was approved. Turns out that, Helen have bribed Yu-fu to give him a solo concert if he is willing to help them. EVIL MUCH!!!!! I don't know, I just disliked that scene of the father and daughter drinking wine. Yoyo just looks too.... biatchy for me to take this scene in.

Then reality sets in. Wallace and Man-wai went to the tour agency, and realised that the workers there seem to have a total change of attitude. They talked to the co-owner of the agency (with Kai-hong being the biggest shareholder) and he said he has lost all the trust on Kai-hong. Wallace decides to take over his father's job in the agency, and meanwhile he has to search for a reason to appeal. With so many things to do, Man-wai was afraid he might break down (could tell Wallace is trying really hard to force a smile on his face T.T). But Wallace says that now his dad has met into trouble, it's right that he helps, in addition he feels guilty for having lost the case.

Then back at home, while Wallace and Man-wai try their best to cheer Kai-hong up, it couldn't work because he was still depressed how he got maligned for something he really didn't do. Wallace apologizes for being too over-confident and causing a bigger trouble than they already had. In addition, because Wallace is a civil lawyer, not a barrister, there is no way he can fight the case on his father's behalf. Therefore, Man-wai suggests to call Clayton back, so that his father would feel more at ease too.

On the other hand, things seem to be going well for James. The fellow barristers were gossiping on how strict Judge Wong is, but when they saw her, she actually smiled at James (It was because of Wai-tung's case she had an impression of him). Things went well, and the big barrister actually told James they would have a lot of chance to work together (= big money!). Of course, James starts to take taxi instead of bus to work, met Mavis at the lift and they could chat really well (because Mavis actually knew and paid attention about the case he fought).

Back in the office, Keith saw Mavis and James chatting happily with each other on the way in and asked James,"Why are you so close to her?!" And James said,"As fellow barristers we should chat more with one another" and Keith smiled (at this point of time, it's just Keith being an annoying colleague HAHA) Thereafter, James said that he wants to increase Small C's salary, so that he could use her for the administrative work too. And he said to install an aircon for his office now that he has money.

James goes to find Wai-tung (he has won the case by the way) and saw that Wai-tung was singing praises for James. One of the neighbors asked what kind of compensation did Wai-tung get, and he said,"I got my dignity back", they told Wai-tung that he could get the money back from the government because they jailed him for nothing, and Wai-tung, looking so highly of James, asked him to help out with the case. Of course, from James' face, he doesn't seem willing to do so.

Back to the bribery case, Clayton really came back from his vacation in Taiwan to help out. Kai-hong admit that he felt really sad that he lost the case due to Wallace's overconfidence in handling this matter. Clayton told him to give Wallace time and another chance. The next day, many of them gathered in Wallace's office, and they started to analyze the files, and try to find a reason for appeal because if they do not find a reason within 14 days, the appeal would automatically fail.

After going through so much, they still had no clue about anything. Ultimately they all got tired and slept, while Wallace and Keith went to the gantry for a coffee break. Wallace confesses to Keith his regret of being too overly confident, of not going for a barrister license, and he feels down because after re-reading all the files so many times, they could not find any loopholes at all. And Wallace is worried that Clayton might not be able to win the case because afterall, Clayton's strength is in criminal cases, appeal is never something he is good at. I thought Raymond portrayed the emotions really well, as expected of someone who has won an award haha. Just then, Clayton, who has got attracted by the smell of the coffee, enters the room. And poured 2 packs of sugar into his cup, despite having said that he only wanted to put half a pack. Wallace looks at Keith with a face of worry (yes, that kind of worry that everyone gets when they grow old), but Keith has his suspicions, but he chose to believe that his mentor could be tired which was why he had forgotten about the sugar and even joked about how Wallace forgets to zip his pants up when he is done at the washroom.

Finally, when Norman was using his right hand to hold the lunchbox and the left hand to hold the money, Keith finally thought of a loophole (which none of them could understand initially other than Norman - as expected of a disciple, and Wallace - expected of the best friend). Helen said that, she held the fake result with her left hand, then while she was handed the real result, she swapped them away, then she passed the result to Yu-fu with her left hand. There would be a loophole, because the result on the left hand was already swapped, so it's the real result! Both of them were lying, because there was no fake result in the first place! And because they didn't match their statements initially, thus they were not able to realize that their statement had the loopholes. However, Wallace says that they are not allowed to use the statements to reason, but Keith says that there is a case because no one doubted their statements. Now that there are loopholes, there is a case of doubt, which means there is a case to fight for. Finally, everyone understood, only left Clayton, who was still confused by the left-right hand thing. And of course, this increase Wallace's worries of Clayton being able to fight the case or not. Darn, Keith is really cool I like this character!!

On the other hand, James goes to the gym after realizing the importance of keeping fit in order to impress people with good looks. He meets Mavis there, who treats gym-ing as a form of hobby. Once again, Keith sees the both of them together, thought that the both of them has an unusual relationship and Keith says the same old sentence again,"Are you very familiar with her?" Ruco's facial expressions in this part made me lol.

It was night-time and Keith offers to give the muddled Clayton a ride (it's really amazing, the acting, you can tell he is really muddled and lost) but he chose to take a taxi home. He looked so weak and confused and of course, Wallace got worried again because Clayton has not been himself for the past few meetings. Keith continues to feel that Clayton is probably tired and told Wallace not to think too much about it. After that, someone called, and said that Clayton forgot where he is living (uh-oh).

The next day, Clayton tells Kai-hong that he has entrusted the case to Keith, because he has Alzheimer disease, thus it would not be convenient for him to take up the case. While being upset and despite Kai-hong having his doubts for Keith, Wallace (along with Danny who had his doubts too) is relieved now that Keith is the one taking over the case.

On the other hand, Clayton goes back to the office to pack, and James saw him while being at it. They started reciting poems (d'aw) together, and Clayton lets out the room for James to shift in. Then, Keith decides to take over Clayton's room, and let James have his room, because that is his teacher's room after all he has the mission to continue with his teacher's legacy. James didn't mind because he has a room already. However he complains to Keith that he should have told him earlier then he didn't have to spend money to build an aircon in the storeroom. Keith laughs and joked,"Well, the documents need to have some aircon too!"

HAHA. Now that this case is coming to an end.. what cases would come next? And would Kai-hong and Wing-choi win the case?

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 6

Episode 6! Where Mavis makes no appearance in the episode.

Case #9: Previously we stopped at the part where the ICAC goes to Kai-hong's office and suspected him for bribery with Ma Wing-choi. He was taken to court with Wing-choi, and they both insists that they are innocent. Apparently, there are witnesses who said they were involved in the bribery, and that is Helen (Yoyo Chen), which makes it harder for them to be proved innocent unless they can prove that Helen is lying. What happened was, Kai-hong helped Wing-choi clinch a deal on the same day, and it really happened that during the lucky draw, he won the watch, but when they were caught by the police, Wing-fu insisted that it is a scam. Apparently, Wing-fu is not happy how he didn't get much inheritance from their late mother, and now he wants to take revenge and snatch the money back.

Meanwhile James is working hard to help Wai-tung find a reason to appeal his case. (Poor dude, he gets no aircon like normal barristers..) Then, a guy from the high court went, and pushed him to get a reason for appeal within 14 days *which is due soon*, if not he would not be able to get a chance to fight the case. In addition, James is not getting paid for all the miscellaneous fees accumulated in a court case. James started complaining about the room being too hot and such, Keith ran away immediately upon hearing that. What a friend! There after, James went to the photocopying room and saw Small C, he told Small C to let him use once she is done. Theoretically, a barrister should ask the secretary to do the paperwork, but seeing that she has to wait on both Keith and Mavis, and including the fact that he has not much contribution to her pay, he told her to let him use the printer once she is done. Poor James! Can't even work properly as a barrister.

James eats his cup noodles in the gantry, Big C comes by and advised him to get a disciple so that he does not need to do everything on his own, and he could lighten his load too. James says that he doesn't have the "quality" to accept disciples. He starts saying how his life is always decided by his parents etc, he decided to be a lawyer because he wants to prove that as long as he takes initiative, he can do things that he want to do. Then it seemed as though they were paying attention, and James was talking so deeply into it, until he turned his back and everyone is gone. James adds,"That's right, who would want to listen to me talk." I feel kinda sad for this character, so neglected and inferior!

James doesn't dare get the court fees from Wai-tung, and Chow Chow doesn't understand why. James explains that it's because he was the one who suggested for Wai-tung to fight the case, and they thought it was free so they accepted it. Now, he doesn't dare to say it out now that they have gone through so much.. Finally, Chow Chow says that there is a need to pay the fees to the couple, Wai-tung's wife got so angry and said that that it's impossible for them to pay the court fees. Wai-tung said that he would rather mortgage his house etc than live with a criminal background. Despite the fact that he only went to jail for a few days, but he thinks it's a downright insult to him.

Then back in the chamber, Keith brings good news to James (who was burying his head over Wai-tung's case), saying that a very famous barrister has a case, and he needs help from other barristers too, so James was one of them. James was really happy about this news and he wanted to hug Keith, who shoved him away. HAHAHA. He was all like,"My good brother!" and Keith was like,"No I didn't help at all I'm just here to deliver the news." I think Keith really wanted to help but he's just too shy to admit it. Of course the next day, James went for the court and messed up massively. Astrid Chan makes her appearance here as a judge too.

Back at the chamber again, James was complaining to Keith that if he cannot find a reason for appeal within 2 days, there would be no case to fight for. Keith offers his office to James as he had to go overseas for a meeting, and James was so grateful and he was all like,"My good brother!" and Keith shoved him away. Keith even opened a drawer which was filled with tidbits for James (which Keith said are expiring goods he just want James to help clear the food) and James was really touched. James swear to properly find a reason in order not to disappoint Keith's goodwill. I was pretty amused by this part, Keith obviously wants to help but he was afraid of James touchy touchy hands. HAHA! They have pretty good chemistry, Ruco and Louis! ^^

James finally found the reason to appeal, he goes to Wai-tung and told him there's a case to fight. And while Wai-tung was all happy, his wife comes and chased James away as they have no money to fight the case. James feel that Wai-tung is doing the right thing but his wife feels that James is up to no good (for money). Of course, the couple quarreled and got into a fight, and injured James in the process.

Wai-tung's wife felt very guilty for hurting James, went to the chamber to apologize and told James that she is willing to support the husband, on the condition that it's only going to cost them 50k HKD. However when his wife entered James' office, she realized that James might not be a good barrister after all and told James that she doesn't want to go to court anymore as James himself is not sure whether they would win either, and told James to persuade Wai-tung to drop this incident and let it be. If it was you, would you spend so much just to clear your name? Or you rather save the money and be burdened with the crime that you have never committed?

James looks Wai-tung up, and tells him to give up on the case in order to prevent the family from splitting up... Wai-tung refuses to give up and told James that he won't give up, because it's not a matter of money, it's a matter of being jailed for something he has never done. Because after he got jailed he asked himself,"Why did I get jailed for? What have I done wrong? Which is why I got so agitated about it. I want to tell everyone, that I have been wrongly accused. Yes, we might lose if we appeal, but we will definitely lose if we don't even take the bet to appeal. You have worked so hard and you have never given up, why give up now? We take charge of our own fate." After hearing what Wai-tung said, James decided to help him fight the case as per usual.

Back to Kai-hong & Wing-choi's case, Wallace and An-gor went to follow Wing-fu for clues and found out that Helen and Wing-fu has a closer relationship than everyone thought. Initially they thought that Helen was Wing-fu's mistress, but it turned out that they are actually father and daughter (illegitimate). Wallace and An-gor goes to talk to Helen's mother, and persuaded her to go to court and disclose their relationship. She agreed as she wants Helen to mend her ways. After they were done, Danny calls and told Wallace that Yu-fu (another host on that charity show that day) was back, and he is willing to help them out.

James looks up for Keith for advice as his case is going to be judged the next day. (and all that brotherly awesome-ness happens again) Keith told James that if he wants to do well, he should use his "heart" to say the things he wishes to express. They spent the whole night doing it under James' request.

Finally the case, James goes to check who is the judge in charge and found out that it's Wong Shui-hing (Astrid Chan). She is known for being strict and scary in court, Chow-chow expresses his empathy but could not do anything about it. In the courtroom, James stutter a little and got the displeasure of Shui-hing, after that he decided to adopt Keith's recommendation of using his "heart" to fight the case. He starts to reason out why Wai-tung should be proved innocent, and indeed, Shui-hing actually thinks that his reasoning is valid. Even though we do not know the results of the judgment, but they are confident of winning. I'm glad how we are gradually seeing James' spontaneity and confidence :D I feel that Louis has done a really good job portraying this, as expected of our TVB award winning supporting actor. GO GO GO!

Back to the bribery case, the trial has started and all Helen said were lies, like how she swapped the winning tickets under the instructions of Wing-choi etc etc. Wallace starts saying that Helen is actually Wing-fu's illegitimate daughter, and Helen was actually helping Wing-fu out. And her residence is at a high class place, which is suspicious as it does not fit her financial status at all. But as Wallace does not have evidence, Helen denied their relationship. During the break, Helen's mother called and said that she doesn't want to go to court and accuse her daughter because she can't bear to do so. With their trump card lost, Wallace says not to be disheartened as they still have Yu-fu as their witness. Anyway, just a random thought, I'm amazed at how everyone always say how pretty Yoyo Chen is but yet I don't find her pretty at all...

However, things didn't go well for them, Yu-fu started saying that this is really a case of bribery (the cause of his sudden change in testimony is unknown) Kai-hong got angry and started screaming in court, and threw his shoe at Yu-fu. Of course which, he got taken out of court and charged with the crime of ostracizing the court. Wallace has a face of helpless-ness and he told Kai-Hong that this case, would be a tough battle. Honestly, I don't really enjoy watching this case, but it's good to see Wallace fighting it out at court!

Life and Times of a Sentinel 紫禁驚雷 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 2

TVB has aired this drama till episode 7, and honestly, I am liking how this drama is going, the pace is just right for me, and there's no character I really hate to the core yet.. But I find it difficult to summarize this drama, there are too many things to talk about. If I give up on the summarizing, you all know why.

Previously, I mentioned that Dor-bo's friends were hung up naked at the alley, with the tag of 'pigs of the han' on them, the night after, Dor-bo and Sheung-hei went to beat the leader of the Manchu gang that always worked against them up as a form of revenge. However, the next morning, he is seen hung up in the middle of town. Dor-bo admits that he only beat the guy up, but he didn't do anything after that. He still gloated over it though, saying that it could be due to him having a lot of enemies given that he always go around bullying people.

Dor-bo meets the night patrolman and asks him why is he out so early in the morning. It turns out that his wife is going to give birth, he is working with every time he has in order to be able to support the family. As he looked really tired, Dor-bo offers to help him do the patrolling. Dor-bo tests out the gong, and scares a dog named Choi-wong, this time Cheuk Chi-ying (Selena Li) makes her appearance, as the owner of Choi-wong. The dog totally lost control and started to cause trouble in the streets, Dor-bo scolds Chi-ying for not controlling the dog properly, while she blames him for knocking the gong so loudly causing Choi-wong to lose total control. They instantly become enemies. Not knowing what to do, Chi-ying offers a reward of 10 taels for anyone who is able to get hold of the dog. The night patrolman, needing money, chases the dog despite having asthma. Now, we have a merry couple! ^^

After that Tai-shek (Deno Cheung) appears at Dor-bo's restaurant and starts to confront him for injuring his cousin. A fight occurs and Tai-shek ended up injuring the night patrolman, the magistrate appears and catches Dor-bo and gang (for obvious reasons). After that, Goon-yat and Choi-king went to the magistrate, bribed him to release Dor-bo (only him, yes). Dor-bo got angry that he and his friends got caught just because the other party is part of the imperial court. I like Helen Ma's character here, very supportive of her adopted son, unlike that extremely unreasonable role in The Other Truth!

It was Kong Ming festival, Dor-bo told the Han people present, to write the word,"冤 (injustice)" on the Kong Ming lantern, hoping that it would float to Hong Hei. It was meant to be a beautiful sight, but the things that were written on, makes Hong Hei feel guilty about how much injustice the Hans have been feeling all these years under his rule. Hong Hei sends Sheng-tak (Stephen Wong) to check out the truth.

As expected, the night patrolman dies, Dor-bo meets Chi-ying on the streets again, Chi-ying's servant pointed her fingers at Dor-bo for causing Choi Wong's death (it ran too much, injured the leg and died), thus Dor-bo started to blame her for indirectly causing the patrolman's death. Dor-bo was angry that Chi-ying was actually more concerned about the death of the dog rather than a human being. They quarreled again. It seems that, Selena really suit such roles, I don't get pissed off with her when she acts like that.

In the palace, Hong-hei appoints Fook Chuen to do some things, they had a chat after that, and Fook Chuen says that he knows Grandma told him not to take part in affairs of the empire because of what he had done 15 years before. He said that he was too impulsive for killing the whole family whom he accused as traitors to gain credit but caused trouble for everyone instead because the family he killed was actually forced to be traitors. It seems as though Fook Chuen is fully repentant and is now trying to gain Hong-hei's trust. Anyway, I have to say that Kenneth's facial expressions are really all kinds of awesome, he looks so not like the "guy next door" anymore with that evil expression he made.

Unable to let go of the patrolman's death, Dor-bo starts to stage a protest with his fellow Hans. The local constables were not able to stop them, and was about to shoot arrows at them when Sheng-tak appears. The emperor was actually discussing with Fook Chuen, and learnt that there are a lot of bullying in the country, and Fook Chuen admitted that he seen it for himself and even took part to rid of the Manchu who bullied the Hans. Sheng-tak says that the emperor has passed the command that no bullying is allowed and he will make sure to check for the truth.

Hong-hei passes the command to ensure ManHan stays together as one family, but Dor-bo is still upset about how he and his friends got caught even though they were not the ones at wrong. Dor-bo is determined to get this case to the emperor, but Goon-yat pleads him to not get himself into further trouble. Dor-bo decides to go audition for imperial bodyguard, so that he could get close to Hong-hei, and everyone (except the father), supports him.

Another flashback occurs, showing what happened 15 years ago after Fook Chuen murdered the whole family. Turns out that Hao-chong totally stopped Fook Chuen from bothering the imperial missions they have, and Fook Chuen has been vengeful about this all along. In order to start his plan, he was the one who hung that Manchu dude up in the middle of the city, to cause a fight between the Manchu and the Hans. (probably to make people feel that the current emperor is useless? Or to make chance for himself to be the "peacemaker"?). See, I already said, Fook Chuen is really not as simple as we all think!

Nothing much happens at the end, just that Chi-ying brings a group of customers to Sheung-moon restaurant and said that their signature dish has got problems. Here, Dor-bo finds out that they have been mixing the wrong herbs up (by mistake) and we know that Chi-ying has a remarkable sense of smell. Then, Cheuk Shu-tong (Kk Cheung) appears as Chi-ying's father, and Nai-chun (Matthew Ko) as an imperial bodyguard, who got introduced to Chi-ying. The episode ends with Dor-bo going for the audition of imperial bodyguard, with Tai-shek as one of the judges.

Oh no Dor-bo you are in trouble...

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Thoughts: Episode 5

Episode 5! 1/5 of the series gone past already~~ And I feel as if I am still writing to myself. HAHAHA!!

This episode starts with Wallace being a little angry with Keith for not letting him know in advance that James was going over to the chamber and be part of them. Keith was all joking and said that Wallace wouldn't mind earning a little money lesser. Wallace retorts and says that it's an office in Central after all, it would not make sense to have a rental fee equivalent to Yuen Long's. This moment, Mavis appears and voiced out that she has the right to know too being a fellow tenant. Wallace agreed with her, and check out Keith's expression. Keith thus said that he would bear all the rental, Wallace agrees and told Keith,"At least let me know in advance next time." Keith smiles and said,"There won't be a next time." I liked this scene. It shows me that the 3 of them actually has a better chemistry than I thought, and it was so funnily cute. Now that is the charismatic thing about Tavia, she has good chemistry with every people she acts with.

The lift came, and Mavis starts saying,"People are lawyer, you are one too, why are you so fond of breaking the rules?" Keith retorts and say that she is nowhere better, getting complained because daughter-father were in the same court during the underaged sex case. Norman comments,"Since both of you are so unlucky, why not hire a feng-shui master?" Both of them said (at the same time),"Are you that superstitious?!" They left the lift at the same time, bumped onto each other, Keith was being "gentlemanly" and let Mavis go ahead first, with a forceful smile. HAHAHA. This scene shows us how Mavis and Keith do not agree with each other, but yet have a kind of chemistry which we are not able to describe. I'm starting to ship this pair.....................

The day before Keith gets trialed for his case, he went drinking with James. James thinks that Keith is pretending to be calm, but in fact, Keith is really calm and he is not worried about it after-all. Then Keith spots an interesting bottle of wine at the counter, the bartender says that it was actually meant for another customer, but he decides to let Keith try it first. Keith passes some money to the bartender as a form of appreciation. At this time, Keith's teacher came in and started lecturing him for not learning his lesson yet. They argued a little and Keith said,"You are not my teacher now anyway." after his teacher said,"If I knew you would become like this I would not have let you graduate." Subsequently Wallace came in, and told him that the judge for Keith's case got into the hospital. James started getting worried as the previous judge was known for being lenient, now there's a change of judge, they wouldn't know who it would be.

And here we are, the day Keith gets trialed. When he entered the courtroom, I bet he was thinking like,"OH shucks, it's the dude I quarreled with yesterday." Well, I would say it is really bad luck for Keith, because he was trying so hard to defend himself, but the judge didn't seem impressed. Thank god, at this time, Keith's mentor Clayton (Chung King Fai) appeared.

Turns out that it was Wallace who brought Clayton back to save him because if Keith were to defend for himself, he would be more or less dead meat. The results are not out yet, but they are confident that they would win the case. Now that Clayton is back, for James it could mean that he would not have any room for himself. And to make things worse, Wallace told to pack up slowly and Clayton is allowed to come and leave anytime he likes. James, seeing a situation like that, confronts Keith and Keith tells James to do his work in the office's store, joking that it suits "his style". James has no other choice, but to stay at the store.

Case #7 (big case 2): Uncle files an appeal. Tam Wai-tung (Benz Hui) makes his appearance in episode 5 at jail, it was time for him to leave the jail, and all he said was,"I was wrongly accused, I might fight for justice." Then the next moment, we see him with a loudhailer and a sign board, which wrote "I'm innocent, the government needs to return me some justice." It happened that James was on the bus when Wai-tung went around disturbing the traffic. He was caught by the police where James met him again, and he went to Wai-tung's stall to find out what had exactly gone wrong. Wai-tung was furious that he got wrongly jailed for hiring illegal workers, in fact when the person involved was only there to help, means she was not paid. However, Wai-tung was still found guilty and went to jail for a few days. He felt so insulted for getting jailed over a crime he has never committed, and thus James helped to fight the case because he believes his innocence. Keith feels that James shouldn't waste his time on this minor civil case, but James still insisted on doing it.

Back to the case of Mavis and her father getting sued for being in the same court and possible unfairness when it comes to judging the case. They were being followed by paparazzi, Michael got angry and almost got into a fight with the paparazzi. Mavis got angry and told him not to bother about their family affairs, and what he had done could actually have made things worse instead of being a help. Btw, that guy acting as Michael seems to be forever a drunkard HAHA. He was a drunkard in 7 Days in Life too!

Keith stumbled upon Norman on the phone with someone, saying that he wants to find another lawyer to his mentor. He goes into the room and scared the hell out of Norman, who started explaining that he is just trying to find a lawyer just in case (Keith gets suspended). Keith says what he is doing is right, once Keith is in trouble it's good to go separate ways. Norman quickly explained that he knows he should be staying by his mentor no matter what. Gosh, this Norman is really a practical and ungrateful man, but I won't totally blame him, it's a fact that Keith is in trouble..

Back in the office, the disciples and Small C were discussing about the environmental goddess potentially disturbing the public over the environmental issues, Keith passes by and Big C asks for his opinion on whether the environmental goddess was breaking the law or not. Just then, Norman sees Mavis walking in and "advised" Big C to ask the opinion of her own mentor instead. Big C quickly replies that she would of course ask the opinion of Mavis too (smart of her to switch so quickly). Mavis joins in the conversation, obviously Mavis and Keith didn't agree with each other again and started quarreling. I am probably very much a weirdo but I love the scenes where Keith and Mavis quarrel.

Ultimately, Keith couldn't speak anymore as Mavis shut him off by indirectly using the case where he got sued by the Board of Justice. Keith turns to Big C and said,"See, you have followed the right mentor." Keith tells Mavis that he would like to be her student, and Mavis says that she would like him to be her student too. Clayton comes out and told Keith that he has been proved innocent, and Keith says that he actually knew it that morning just that he kept quiet about it. Thereafter Keith looks at Mavis and said,"Aww so sorry I can't be your student." Mavis replies sarcastically,"It's okay, there will be a chance." Darn! I have a weak spot for quarreling couples.

Case #8: Wallace's mother Siu Man-wai (Rebecca Chan) got a lawyer letter from Ma Wing-fu (Ai Wai) for medical malpractice, as he believes that she was the one that indirectly caused the death of his mother. In actual fact, Wing-fu's elder brother actually had allowed Man-wai to remove the aid machine in order to let his mother die peacefully. However, they only discussed it over lunch (cos they are good friends), thus there was no other witness to prove that. However, under normal circumstances, most doctors would do that. Wing-choi says that Wing-fu sued her could be due to the will, Wing-fu has been using methods to make Mdm Ma change the will before she dies but no avail. And now that probably Madam Ma is dead and he doesn't get any money, Wing-fu decides to sue her.

I don't know how to describe this, but I found Wallace (or rather Raymond) particularly charming in this scene. The way he cornered Wing-fu until he was speechless, that he decided to drop all charges. The mother is safe now, then Wing-fu threw another lawyer letter, and it's to Wallace's father (Chun Wong) for bribery.

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 4

At episode 4 now! I wonder if anyone has been reading my review/summary.. It's been so long since I last updated afterall, I don't think anyone remembers my presence anymore. HAHA.

Episode 4 starts with James (Louis Yuen) appearing (why, finally!), looking all cool and everything but he actually takes the bus to work. Seems that this barrister is not doing well...

James bumped into Keith, and it turns out that.. They are friends from university. Keith tells James to go look for him at his office in Central and they had a promise. On the other hand, it seems that James is very picky and sensitive when it comes to taking up cases to fight. He rejected the case of helping a teacher from innocence for having sex with his under-aged student (which would be the case that Mavis gets involved in later).

Now, finally, the other Cecilia (Cheung Meini) finally makes her appearance. So to prevent confusion, Hero suggests that Natalie's Cecilia be called Big C as she entered the law firm first, then Meini's Cecilia be called Small C. Because of the Cantonese pronunciation, Big C = Barrister. So Big C immediately accepted this nickname. Then Norman added a sentence,"What barrister, it's more reasonable to say that you are going to become a zombie instead." Nice how they were playing with words.

James, as promised, appears at Keith's office and when he entered, he started envying how well Keith is doing at the Central as compared to him. Keith says that he is not doing as well as James is seeing to be, and at this moment An-gor enters the room and said,"We are doomed, they have sent us a letter", it was from the Board of Justice with regards to Keith breaching the rights of keeping the recording a secret. Keith says that if anything is wrong, he would take all responsibility. James realized that Keith is in big trouble and Keith adds,"See, I am not doing as well as you thought I am." And An-gor got annoyed and scolds Keith that this is not the time to joke around. Meanwhile, Keith tells James that he can shift into the chamber with them since his mentor would not be coming back anytime soon. James says that he probably is not able to foot the rent at Central, Keith says that a bit of rental fee is nothing to Wallace.

Case #6: Underaged sex case between teacher and student that James rejected earlier. Mavis was appointed to be the public prosecutor of this case, and her job, is to not have any form of contact between the accuser and the accused. However, the accuser Wing San (Cilia Kung) went to peep into the police's documents and found Mavis at her office. Mavis shuts her off and asks Big C (Will address Natalie's character as Big C from here) to chase her away. Big C brought Wing San to the toilet, and she starts to say that she had sex with the accused Mr. Chu willingly because they loved each other. She didn't want to sue him, but her teachers and parents found out and decided to take action. She kept crying and all Big C could do is just stay there and listen. Mavis got into contact into the police, and told them to keep an eye on Wing San. Big C enters the room, and told Mavis about Wing San, Mavis flared up and started scolding her for listening to what Wing San said when they are not supposed to put in feelings into the case as a prosecutor. In Mavis' eyes, there's no innocence, her job is to get the guilty prosecuted. Big C doesn't understand why because she feels that there is "heart" in law, but still kept quiet anyway. Omg I need to complain, I SERIOUSLY get all kinds of irritated when Cilia cries, her voice kills. Thank god it only lasted an episode.

Keith and James met up to go for lunch, James almost got knocked over by a sports car (will elaborate later) and he got angry. After that, Keith met the guy he helped in the first episode. He was shopping at a shop that sells camping supplies, there were knives and bags there, and Keith thought he was shopping for knives, HAHA. Turns out that he and her wife had reconciled, and they go out trekking and stuffs often, he is thinking of buying a back pack for her. What I like about this drama is, there are mini follow ups of the case, not like it gets forgotten immediately after the case is closed.

Keith and James were having lunch when the sports car they met earlier accidentally knocked an old lady down. James was quarreling with them and Keith finds out that they had used illegal parts for their car and insist that they pay compensation fees of 10k to the old lady instead of having the old lady to pay. (random. Ruco looks so cool omggggggg. And Louis' expression is win, funny!!!!) However, James accidentally dropped his name card, the girl picked it up and scolded them for trying to blackmail them even though they know the law. Keith was however, not afraid and insisted they pay if not they would call the police. The 2 of them drove the car away after giving 2k to the old lady. James was worried that they might use his card and sue them for blackmail, but Keith just remained relaxed about it.

In this scene, Mavis' father (Lau Dan), who is a judge, appears. Because Mavis is in charge of the case too, to prevent misunderstanding, the other party could request for the judge to be changed to ensure fairness. However, the other party is fine, and they would need to sign a document to re-affirm that. The case officially starts its trial, and to protect Wing Sanl, she would make her statements through the television, and introducing her as Ms. X. During the trial, she insists that the teacher is innocent and how much they love each other, that he gave her a present as a gift, then lead her to the room, and they had sex. Then she starts crying and screaming how she doesn't remember anything (I shall stop expressing how unflattered I was when she cries).

Then a court break. The mum runs into the room and starts scolding Wing San for being stupid (like what typically happens), and saying that God would not forgive her for lying blah blah blah.. Big C and Mavis saw Wing San getting scolded, and Big C thinks that the mum instead of being concerned, all she does is scold the daughter. Mavis seemed to be pitying the girl, but displayed a nonchalant attitude. I think this is the first time Tavia gets a role like this? I'm not used, but she sure is doing this role well, easily my favourite role of hers over the past one year.

Back to the chamber. James goes to find Keith with regards to renting a place at their chamber, Keith says yes to everything, so James went ahead to print his new name cards and gave them out. In the process, James meets Wallace and thanked him for renting the room to him at the Yuen Long price. Wallace had a bewildered expression and that was when James found out that Keith had never discussed the issue at all. James got extremely angry and goes to court to find Keith for embarrassing him. Keith says that he hasn't talked about it with Wallace yet and made decisions on his own. James flared up and said that he has no ability to pay so much rent, and Keith shooed him off by saying that he will top up the remaining amount of rent if he should not have enough. Now, what an awesome friend.

The case at its final spurt. Now, this teacher was being a real bastard. He said that he suspected that Wing San was a 援交 (someone who goes out with another party of another sex in exchange for money), and she is not as obedient as everyone thinks.. The parents told Wing San that he kept embarrassing her in court, her teacher advised that it is time that she be honest about the whole incident and speak the truth. Finally, the teacher gets prosecuted and punishment for what he has done.

However, Wing San was very upset that the teacher had cheated her feelings and refused to see anyone because she felt that her life is ruined. Mavis told the parents that they have to be understanding etc etc, then the family reconciled. Big C felt that during this case, she was too emotional and she said she would take note of her actions, then Mavis added and said that, actually, it's not a bad thing to be emotional at times. Another valuable lesson learnt (:

Finally this case is over, honestly it was a torture to watch because I couldn't stand Cilia Kung's crying and screaming scenes. And I am so glad Louis Yuen appeared! He's so cute~

Life and Times of a Sentinel 紫禁驚雷 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 1

And so... I am watching this drama too! ^^v Currently at episode 5~ And there's nothing I can conclude on so far, just that Kenneth Ma's character as Fook Chuen is not as simple as I thought.

The drama starts with Fook Chuen wanting to rebel and seize the Emperor Hong Hei (Power Chan)'s throne.

Then it dates back to many years back when the previous emperor Fook Lam (Sunny Chan) appointed young Fook Chuen to be the next emperor. Subsequently, the emperor's wife died, his heart died too and wasn't able to lead the country. He told his mother that he wishes to appoint Fook Chuen to be the new emperor, but she refuses and says that Fook Chuen is unscrupulous, while Hong Hei is kind and would be a better choice for the emperor. Fook Lam dies, Hong Hei was appointed as the new emperor, making Fook Chuen not being able to comprehend the reason, but hide his grief within himself.

Turns out that Fook Lam is not dead, but went to be a monk, and his loyal servant Kei T0-ting (Ben Wong) serves him and keeps the secrets that he knows. Before he died, he instructs Ben's character to pass a letter to the Fook Chuen, and insisting that his mother must not see the letter. Ben duplicates the letter, passes the mission to his disciple, telling him to save his son Kei Man Cheung (Chris Lai) and grandson and run as far away as possible. Then, To-ting tells the Queen mother about the letter, she burns the letter and To-ting kills himself in order to keep the secret after assuring from the queen that his family be safe. But the Queen, doesn't know that there was actually a duplicate with Man Cheung. In the process, some things happen, To-ting's grandson gets washed away by the stream and was picked up by Nip Goon-yat (Kwok Foong). Of course, Man Cheung couldn't find the kid, and instead found a piece of jade left by Goon-yat.

Man Cheung goes back alone to the palace after overhearing that if he appears, he would be able to save the life of the family. He begs To-ting's disciple to help to search for his son, and went back to the palace, lied that his son died, and after that, muted himself in order to keep the secret that Fook Chuen was meant to be the King to save his family. Then, it turns out that Dor Bo (Steven Ma) was actually part of the Kei family and he is helping Fook Chuen in the usurp of the throne as he thought that the grandmother was the one that caused the death of his family members.

Turns out that what really triggered Fook Chuen's plot to take over the throne was caused by how the grandmother treated him. The grandmother was never be able to accept Fook Chuen, and has been lecturing him on the "mistakes" he made 15 years ago.

Fook Chuen was at the restaurant where Dor Bo's family are doing their business at, a few Manchu people came and started insulting the Hans. The policy of Hong Hei is "ManHan one family", but they don't buy the idea, and a fight occurs in the restaurant. Fook Chuen couldn't take how the Manchu bully was insulting the Han, and picked a fight with him (Note that Fook Chuen is a Manchu). Fook Chuen and Dor Bo went for a drink thereafter and became friends (of which Fook Chuen hides his real status) Dor Bo starts saying that there is no fairness as long as both races around, because none of the people in the imperial bodyguard are the Han. He adds that as long as a Han gets to be an imperial bodyguard, then he would call that justice. And I would like to add that, the fighting scenes were really nicely done!

The episode ends with 3 of Dor Bo's friends getting hunged up naked in the alleys, with the tag of 'pigs of the han' on them.

I hope my summary is not too confusing, because it's a fact that this drama is really kinda complicated to explain. I like all the acting so far, and Kenneth Ma, omg is really convincing as the baddie.

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 3

Finally we reached the climax of the first major case.

Keith decides that if the son was to go free, he would need to fight the case as "self defense", but Wallace says that there is no way to fight it as self defense because it was obviously a murder. Keith rebutts and says that "self defense is not always immediate, because living under fear for a long period of time could cause it too." Keith recalls the deceased saying that he would "torture" Sau Lan by dipping her head into water until she becomes breathless while handling the case years back. That is because Keith has the habit of recording his conversations with the clients. An-gor (Henry Lee) was present too when the deceased said that. Wallace realizes that Keith would be putting his barrister license at risk if he brings that recording up to court because what is communicated between the lawyer and the client has to be kept private and they signed a document for that. Keith being Keith, doesn't care anymore if he gets his license revoked as long as he gets to save them. Damn, what an awesome lawyer (well, he's filled with guilt though, which is why he is risking everything)

Case #5: Wallace's virgin case. This case is pretty simple, about some insurance thing (which I couldn't really bother to note the details of, go watch and you will understand). Wallace, being such a joker, used the time for fighting the case to arrange documents. The faces on his clients were so funny. The case ended quickly, because the one who make the accusation actually had a crush on the accused and thus from love it became hate (yes both women, the accuser is a lesbian) and decided to remove all charges. In addition, she wasn't being cooperative when Wallace shot all the questions at her.

After the charges are dropped, Wallace took it that he won the case, and went to Mavis' chamber to 'show off'. Mavis quickly dissed him by saying,"Oh, dropping charges is considered as winning a case?" HAHA obviously, Mavis has no interest in Wallace at all. Really, Wallace is like the stress reliever of the drama, I like his flamboyant character and I think Raymond has portrayed it well.

Because Keith's tactic to use the recording failed (and got him into trouble too), he went back to the scene of crime, and started his analysis (even with all the furnitures etc gone). Subsequently, he went to look at the murder weapon again and alas, he found 2 different traces of blood on the skateboard. It came to his realization that he was strucked at 2 different times, and the second time he got strucked, could be the one that claimed his life. Meaning, that it might not be the son who killed him. Then Keith went to read the documents, and gosh, the forensics declared there was a 'fresh injury' on his head that was caused within 24 hours (instead of the usual 12 hours), and meaning that he could have died because he slid and fell on the skateboard after getting up, causing a second injury on the back of the head. Using that point, and asking the son to go on court to say his piece (which was really heart wrecking to watch because the father was just too god damn terrible), we await the results.

Even though I have my complaints for the guy acting as the son, I have to say that the mother and son duo have a really good chemistry. The son wrote a letter for the mum in case he goes to jail, and he says that he is really glad that the father is already gone etc... I felt like crying when I watched that. Even the guard at the prison was so touched and felt pitiful for him.. Ultimately, Keith won the case, and yes, the son was released immediately. PARTY!!!!

The first case ends here. Here, we get to know that Keith really goes over the limits as the lawyer in order to get his things done, we know that Louise Lee is really an amazing actress and that The Other Truth is an interesting drama to chase.

What happens to Keith and An-gor for breaking the rules? Will update tomorrow!

Kenneth Ma talks about how he's been taking up 3 consecutive roles which are all baddies, who he gets along best while filming Life and Times of a Sentinel, what is his type of girls and how much the type he pursues changes while aging, talking about how he entered TVB as it the only company that replied to all his applications etc, the people on screen (Benz Hui, Gallen Lo, Roger Kwok, Wayne Lai..) and off screen who have inspired and helped him over the times he just entered TVB, who he wishes to work with, how he sucks to talk at the camera which is why he is not able to do things that the variety/informational hosts are able to do..

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 2

Continuing with the case of killing the dad..

The son kept saying that he killed the father in order to protect himself. Keith thinks that his statement has too many loopholes and if that is said on court, he would simply be courting his doom. Keith tells Sau Lan to be prepared that her son might not be able to get away from this, upon hearing that, Sau Lan gave a really weird expression. They went to check what Sau Lan was doing at the point of murder, and they found out that Sau Lan lied.

Meanwhile, Wallace (Raymond Wong) makes his appearance when Keith calls him urgently to sign a document. As expected of a rich man, his appearance is particularly "grand". Wallace told Keith "No other lawyer works as hard as you do.", Keith retorts by hinting that Wallace "Doesn't do anything but sign documents".

The moment Wallace goes back to the office, he was told that a girl called Emily is searching for him. Emily is a greedy woman and likes to pester men (esp handsome ones), and Wallace being afraid of her, asks Danny (Chris Lai) to help handle the case. This case is about her marriage agreement with her ex, which her ex decided to void when they broke up, she got angry and decided to sue him. Wallace instructs Chow Chow (Stephen Wong) to give Danny a call, and seriously the telephone conversation was extremely funny. Chow Chow,"Boss tells you to satisfy Emily as much as possible, of course, in terms of work." And Danny tells Emily,"Trust me, Hand me (literally in English)" and I laughed my ass off. Now, what I like about this drama is, all of them has the humor that I didn't know they possessed. And they display really good chemistry. Emily doesn't trust Danny, thus she insists on getting a female lawyer.

Finally, Cecilia (Natalie Tong) appears. Keith was on the phone with the tenant, and didn't notice that Cecilia was around until she got hit by the door that Keith opened. Thereafter, because Keith was arguing with the tenant about the date when the leasing agreement ends (it's supposed to be end of that month, but Keith insists its the following month), he attempted to break into his mentor's office to get the documents. Upon seeing that, Cecilia attempts to stop Keith from opening the door. Keith gets angry and starts saying that "You have no right to stop me, I'll fire you." but Cecilia still insists on preventing the room from being broken into. At this moment Mavis appears and stops Keith from firing Cecilia because he is not allowed to. Turns out that Cecilia (with the surname Poon) is Mavis' disciple and turns out that there is another Cecilia *who is the new hired secretary*.

Mavis starts reprimanding Keith for not getting his facts right, and said,"Is there a need to break open your mentor's door just to get the documents?" Keith doesn't know where the documents are, and Mavis pointed that it's at the secretary's table, which his mentor had actually told him that before he left. Keith realizes that the date of expiry is really coming, and Mavis starts to reprimand Keith again and told him to get the things done. If she really has to move out, she would need a month's advance of notice. That smile Keith gave subsequently was so funny. O.O HAHAHA

Case no.4: After getting herself ridiculed for recognizing the wrong lawyer (she thought Mavis is her lawyer, but it turns out that Mavis is helping the guy instead), she drags Wallace into the room to listen to the meeting. While they were discussing the conditions of settling the case out of court, Emily was being all kinds of irritating and kept interrupting their conversations. The guy just kept quiet throughout the meeting (he rly didn't speak a single word and it's super funny just realizing that). Initially, the agreement is not valid under the law, but because they signed the agreement with the presence of a civil lawyer, the agreement is valid. However, it will become invalid if any of the party fails to contribute to the relationship. Throughout the meeting, Emily insisted on how much she loved him, but she was retorted by Mavis who flashed pictures of Emily going out with other men. Mavis was being really firm throughout, and look at Wallace's face, obviously in love. The case ended quickly with Emily deciding to drop all charges to prevent further embarrassment.

Now, I feel that Wallace's presence actually serves as a form of comedic relief, which is good, we need the comedic effect at times. After the meeting, Wallace pretends to bump onto them at the cafe, and offers to treat for their coffee. Then back to the office building, Wallace stops the lift for them. In the lift, Wallace introduces himself as "Keith's good friend". After that when Mavis and Cecilia reached their floor, Wallace actually follows them out of the lift until his female colleagues broke him off the dream.

Cecilia tells Mavis honestly that she feels that Wallace is trying to woo her. And Mavis adds,"There are 3 kinds of lawyers." Cecilia continues,"I know, lawyers and barristers." Mavis,"The third kind is like Wallace, doesn't do cases and all he does is just laze around." Then Keith appears, searching for his document. Then Mavis adds,"Oh ya, there's a forth kind. The irresponsible type." Keith retorts and says that he doesn't like irresponsible people too. This 2 is so cute when they are quarreling!

Now, comes my favourite part in the episode. Keith goes to Wallace's company, Wallace sees him and asks him to go for happy hour. Keith complains that he is busy and on top of that he keeps getting nagged at by Mavis over the tenant agreement. Wallace becomes worried that Mavis would shift away from the building, and Keith tells him straight that he is not her type. Keith repeated what Mavis said about him previously, and Wallace says that,"At least I had never lost a case before." Keith laughs it off and says,"Yah, that's because you have never fought a case before." and made the colleagues smirk at him. Then, Danny comes in with a challenging case that many lawyers had rejected and Wallace says he would take up the case as the boss and guarantees that the client would be so happy that she would not be able to sleep. Danny takes it back and added,"You don't even know how to fight a case" Keith got worried and said,"I was just joking, you do not have to be so serious" Wallace's face turned serious,"I will show you all what I am made up of." and took the file away. Here, Danny said the truest sentence ever,"I don't know whether to be happy or worried. Happy because I have one less challenging case to do, worried because there is going to be another victim."

Continuing with the big case, the 3 of them went to check the case up, and could not figure out why Sau Lan lied about not going for work on the day of the murder. Sau Lan goes to visit her son at the detention centre, and suddenly stands up to admit that she was the one who committed the crime. Other than the fact that the guy acting as the soon has really exaggerated acting when he shouts, the scenes with Louise Lee are really awesome. I'm so glad they found her to be the guest for one of the cases.

What happens next? What was the reason that made Sau Lan lie to Keith etc? I will update episode 3 tomorrow~ ^^

The Other Truth 真相 Episode Summary and Review: Episode 1

Well, I really love this drama, not sure if it's my bias-ness towards lawsuit dramas or what, but I am at episode 23 now and I am really very impressed. Thus, I have decided to write my thoughts about the drama (along with my thoughts)

YES. ALL KINDS OF SPOILERS

The drama starts with a burglary, and a policeman gets caught.

The first scenes of the important people in the drama

Case #1: Keith (Ruco Chan) is the in-charge. This case says that a policeman was caught with a swiss knife, and it was because it happened that there was a burglary for a swiss knife at that moment, but due to the negligence of the security, the policeman was maligned and it was also because he was acting suspiciously. Then, it turned out that the policeman's wife was having an affair with another guy, he wanted to kill the other man, which was why he was caught with the knife. Keith added,"You should be thankful that you were caught by the security. If not it could end up as a murder instead of a simple stealing case and you would lose everything."

Case #2: Mavis (Tavia Yeung) is the in-charge for this case. This case is about a foreigner getting sued for 30k for using the fake toilets that were on display. Because he was really urgent, thus he didn't care and went straight to the first toilet he could see.

So.. Mavis really wanted to talk, but it seems that Keith is avoiding her. Turns out that the administrative stuffs at their chamber hasn't been done, and Mavis is really annoyed. The 2 of them actually look cute together. HAHAHA

HAHA, I think Ruco looks like a baddie without glasses on, but a cool one! In the drama, Keith is a guy who like to go over the limits while doing his cases, and in this scene, he went to an arcade to get a video tape, and he "pretended" to be a police (even though he didn't pretend to be one on purpose). Okay, then the protagonist of this case appears, staring at Keith and Norman (Sam Chan).

Back at the chamber. Keith and Norman goes back to the office, saw all the messiness and decided to run away from it. Got caught by Mavis who started lecturing him that after the company's secretary left, the things that he had promised to handle hasn't been handled at all.

Then they saw a parcel at the counter, and there was a ticking sound coming out of it, they joked that it could be a bomb. Turns out that the parcel is addressed to Mavis, and Keith was being really terrible and said,"She has a lot of enemies" then Mavis retorted,"My only enemy is you". I was really amused by this part. Then a foreigner appeared and it turns out that the guy from the toilet case is actually Mavis' ex-husband. Then they started gossiping. HAHAHA.

Case #3 (big case): Louise Lee makes her appearance as Fong Sau Lan. Sau Lan felt really angry to see Keith, because he was responsible for proving the husband's "innocence". Sau Lan confessed that she and her son has been living a non-human like life, and one fine day, her son couldn't take it, and went to murder the father while trying to retrieve the nude photos he had gotten from that bastard father of his. Of course, upon hearing this, Keith was really guilty and he decided to accept her request to help her son get away from attempt murder.

Turns out that the guy who was staring Keith at the arcade (and beat him up after that) is her son. And a few years back, Sau Lan sued her husband for abusing her, and Keith was the lawyer that helped her husband gain innocence as he thought it was just a regular husband-wife quarrel. Unfortunately, the son refuses to cooperate, Keith thinks that it would be hard for him to be proved innocent.

Now that her son is in jail, Sau Lan attempted to jump off the building in addition to the fact that her husband is already dead, there is nothing that she worries about anymore. Keith said,"I would help your son, please do not jump." I would like to add that, this scene was really nicely done. Probably influenced by Louise Lee's awesome acting, Ruco Chan's expressions were really priceless. That look of guilt, sadness and affirmation. I went all like,"Wow, this dude can act as a good guy too." (Sad how I only recognized him as the big baddie from the recent dramas)

This marks the end of my episode summary (and very little thoughts). Hope you all have enjoyed it!

The Other Truth ep.22

Currently at episode 22, and really, unexpectedly, I am really impressed with this drama.

Kenneth finally makes his appearance as the ultimate baddie Alex in the final case!!! Such a awesome looking baddie.

Natalie's character Cecilia found out that Alex has been lying to her. Hell, my heart broke when I saw her cry.

Ruco Chan's Keith, knowing that he has been made used of, went to confront Alex. So Alex was being a bastard and said that it's Keith's task to keep everything between them a secret and if Keith were to expose his wrongdoings, it would affect his reputation and people might not find him to help do their cases anymore. Alex was all like,"Everything is under my control, I have done all the calculations." Keith was all smiling then his face changed and said,"But you missed out one thing. I am insane. I can give up everything, you don't even think of getting away from this"

OMG. It was damn cool when Ruco said that!!!!!!!!!

And so... I abandoned this webpage and left without a sound for more than a year.... Actually, I was writing a review on TVB dramas for 2010, then I realised, I had nothing much to write about? The only dramas from last year that I really liked were only Fistful of Stances, No Regrets and Every Move you Make.. The rest either disappointed me, or I didn't watch at all.

Thank god this year, I have watched 7 days in Life, Twilight Investigations, Grace of Fire, Ghetto Justice and Wax and Wane etc, and I can say, I am really impressed so far. Currently watching The Other Truth and Lives and Times of a Sentinel (:

Shall go off, and write a review on Wax and Wane! :D Well, actually, I have not been doing such things for a long time, hope I would be able to write decently!

TVB Series 2009: The Overall Review

Hello!

After a long hiatus! I am back once again! And of course, an overall review would complete the year worth of series!!! ^^ I am not sure if anyone is actually still reading this blog, and I am not sure if anyone actually loves my reviews but do comment if you have any voices to make! And so, last year I did this [LINK], it's a good way to announce my come-back to the blog by having this post!

Come to think of it, seems that I watched quite little... Honestly, I feel that this year, either the dramas are damn good, or they are really horrible/no urge to watch them.

The Name: The King of Snooker
The people: Adam Cheng, Niki Chow, Patrick Tang, Derek Kwok, Joyce Tang, Benz Hui
Mini intro: Snookers, competitions, friends, family, love, betrayal.
Why did I watch: I have no idea why also. I kinda regretted
Why should you watch: Derek Kwok and Joyce Tang. I think the both of them are cool!!
Thumbs down: You will forget the existence of this drama after watching 2 other dramas. And parts when Patrick Tang turned bad, I hated them. I preferred him at the beginning.
Why like this?: I don't understand what made Patrick Tang turn bad for a while suddenly in the middle of the show.
Would I recommend?: No.

The Name: Man In Charge
The people: Kenneth Ma, Kate Tsui, Leila Tong, Matthew Ko
Mini intro: A witty guy who almost got himself killed because the judges thinks that he's a threat to most of them. And what's worst, he has a wife who has a undisclosable identity.. And we know a lil on the history of golf.
Why did I watch: Kenneth Ma's first role as the main lead, how could I miss it.
Why should you watch: Kate is very lovable in this drama, Kenneth as usual, doesn't disappoint us! Leila makes a quite good pair with Kenneth too! And it's quite funny to see Kate screaming at Kenneth!!!!
Thumbs down: The one and only complain- Matthew's acting.
Why like this?: I think that Kate shouldn't die in the drama. It doesn't really make much difference. And why is Matthew so stubborn?! No matter what, Kenneth helped him before he became bad!!!
Would I recommend?: Half-half I guess..

The Name: Rosy Business
The people: Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Ron Ng, Kara Hui, Susan Tse, Kiki Sheung, Pierre Ngo, Nancy Wu..
Mini intro: Many many rice, building eternal friendship, mutual trust, betrayal, survival, keys, will, death of the oldest man. [If you watched Safe Guards and Sweetness in the Salt, then yes, it's sth like a combination of both dramas. Just that there's a difference in certain elements, and it focuses on Employer-Employee relationships more]
Why did I watch: I saw the previews, it looked promising. I am a fan of Wayne and Sheren's dramas all the while, and knowing that they are doing a drama together, I knew I must watch it.
Why should you watch: Because I don't see why you should miss it! Wayne & Sheren, even tho they don't act as lovers in the drama, but just look at their expression and chemistry, it's perfect. There were sooooo many scenes that might be declared classics!! Everyone had all their own outstanding scenes, which is just SO GREAT! And Nancy, after episode 16, you can't help but love her. And there's very lil focus on Suki Tsui, phew.
Thumbs down: Probably the lousy acting of some of them. At the part when Kara Hui died, the letter reading part was supposed to be very devastating, but the third brother spoilt it with his expressionless expression. [He's cute, but he shldn't act in such good dramas for now]. And I really hated Pit-Man and Fung Yee and the godfather trio [but not the actors I must state myself clear]. Oh, and the front is slightly draggy, the real deal really all comes after Master Tseung dies. (:
Why like this?!: I feel that Chai Kau SHOULDN'T DIE. I don't really get the part when they saw Susan with extremely white hair [please explain?], and lung cancers can be spread thru germs?!
Status: Ranked 2nd and swept off 80% of the awards in TVB awards ceremony.
Would I recommend?: YES, U ARE MISSING OUT SOMETHING GOOD IF U DUN WATCH IT.

The Name: Sweetness in the Salt
The people: Steven Ma, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Wong, Felix Lok, Ram Tseung..
Mini intro: Salt, betrayal, love triangle, another it-turns-out-that-ur-most-respected-guy-is-a-baddie story, boring business.
Why did I watch: Tavia's first lead role, how could I miss it. And I love Raymond Wong and Steven Ma.
Why should you watch: Raymond Wong and Tavia Yeung. Esp Raymond Wong. I sweared that I would stop watching once Raymond Wong's character Ting Hin dies, because the business parts are just bullshit. I cried like crazy when Ting Hin died. And Tavia's tears. OMG.
Thumbs down: Steven Ma's overacting at times [I am still shocked he's in top 5 for best actor..], and the youngest sister. Ting Fai's refusal to become a better man.
Why like this?!: I don't get WHY Raymond's character should die. I would have accepted it if he dies from his illness!!!! And the ending sucked [I don't know what happened from the episode Ting Hin died and till the very last 10 minutes cos I skipped them.]
Would I recommend?: Yes, until episode 22 [or 21?]

The Name: A Bride for a Ride
The people: Chin Ka Lok, Sammul Chan, Louisa So, Nancy Wu, Lee Kwok Lam, Mimi Chu..
Mini intro: This big bully who loves to snatch brides, and this pretty boy scholar!
Why did I watch: Sammul Chan acting as a "woman", of course I want to watch it!!!!
Why should you watch: It's FREAKING FUNNY seriously. I laughed from start to the end. It's a good drama if you would like a good laugh. But if you are searching for storyline, then by all means, skip it.
Thumbs down: It's really easily forgettable, and you will realise it's a waste of time to watch this drama.
Why like this?!: I don't really get a lot of things, so I can't list all of them down. And besides, I really forgot more than half of what I have watched.
Would I recommend?: I love comedies, so I guess I wld recommend this..

The Name: D.I.E Again
The people: Roger Kwok, Sonija Kwok, Derek Kwok, Nancy Wu, Mimi Lo
Mini intro: Detective with a weird talent, and somehow got his own kid into trouble.
Why did I watch: I loved part 1 LIKE MAD [Other than the fact that I hated Kenneth Ma in it]
Why should you watch: Because I honestly don't see why you shouldn't watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Derek Kwok is EXTREMELY cute in it [along with the rest too actually] and I loved his chemistry with Nancy Wu! The cases too, are interesting! And their head cop is soooooo funny!!!!!
Thumbs down: Not much thumbs down for me, just didn't like the 2 rookie cops that much.. I just didn't see a need to add 2 more people into the team.
Why like this?!: Why did Nancy Wu suddenly fall for Derek Kwok's character? But oh wells I don't really care, since they make a superb pair.
Would I recommend?: Yes definitely!

The Name: The Chamber of Bliss
The people: Damien Lee, Kathy Chow, Kenneth Ma, Toby Leung, Crystal Tin, Lam Ka Wah, Angela Tong...
Mini intro: Rebellion [That's the only word I could think of], Prostitution, war, deaths?
Why did I watch: Kenneth Ma. And I can't find any other reason
Why should you watch: I can't find any reasons for now cos I just started on this drama!!
Thumbs down: WILL UPDATE THIS ONCE I FINISH OKAY!
Would I recommend?: Not sure yet!

Why did I watch: Tavia's first role as the big baddie, how can I miss it
Why should you watch: Because you should watch it!!!! Tavia's excellent. ALL HER SCENES. The seniors are great too!!!!!! Moses and Kevin surprisingly share really good chemistry, I love their brotherly love for each other. And I loved Susan Tse in there, she's so high class even though she's a baddie! And last but not least, I loved scenes btw Susanna Kwan and Chueng Kwok Keung, I think their chemistry is really good!!! Actually, everyone put up a good show! [Stole this from their this year's tagline]
Thumbs down: Charmaine's character is TOO flawless which makes me very irritated. And General Man's wife played by Yvonne Lam, extremely irritating............ It's great that her character died [and her character is the only one I wish to see dead]
Why like this?!: I don't see the reason of a few of them dying.. I mean like Emperess Kwok, she's alr banished to the cold palace, why let her die!!! I wanted her to survive, so badly! And General Man shouldn't be paralysed! I was so sad!! T.T
Status: Top rated drama series of the year, and Tavia won Most Favourite Character award.
Would I recommend?: YES PLEASE WATCH IT. It's just like Rosy Business. U are missing out if you don't watch this drama!

I know that my blog has been dead for months already.. And don't get me wrong, I am still a TVB fan. I watched quite a lot of dramas this yr, just that I don't have the time to update at all!!

And I have tendency to like such dramas, so there's a mini tinge of biasness over here!

Finally we see Wayne Lai as the first male lead after 20 over years right? He's really an outstanding actor, and I am pleased to see his seeds bear some fruit after so long... I will definitely give this series a try, just to show my support for him *thank god the rental shop near my house is not closing down anymore cos the contract is renewed...*

After seeing the preview, I felt a sense of "deja vu" [like mentioned by qing since I can't find a better word to describe this feeling] This drama looks so familiar to that of Secret Chamber of Sorrows and War and Destiny combined together!!! But anyway, I think there's gonna be good stuffs coming, so I am really looking forward [I know it's up to episode 4, but i haven't finished Man in Charge yet!!!!!! Still at the part when Kate's character died *oops spoiler*]

Wayne+Sheren [undoubtedly one of the best few actors in TVB]+battling of wits+revenge = love?

Master Tai Yau Kung (Lau Ka Fai) is skilled in training official advisor for government. He helps his foster son Chow Ping (Kenneth Ma) obtain a job in officialdom. It's a drama that I have been waiting for quite some time. It's supposed to come out earlier than Speech of Silence, but somehow the release date is dragged for 1 whole year... Knowing that it is out in stores already, I immediately came outta my bubble, and went to rent this drama.

The first disc is currently in my house, but I haven't got a chance to watch it yet [because I am watching King of Snookers right now, and enjoying it]

Anyways, frankly speaking I am actually very sick of the Kenneth-Kate pairing.. They have paired up for like 5 times already within 2 years!!!! But for once, I think this pairing is kinda cute *as much as Kate's bangs look rly disgusting to me* and I am really looking forward to watching it.. [I LOVE COMEDIES~] I really hope this drama won't disappoint me! Since this is kinda of Kenneth's first leading role...

Now talk about the storyline.. Actually this type of storyline is quite typical [since Kate is like acting as a spy again after The Four...] If this drama interests me, [which most prolly would since I am biased towards Kenneth Ma], I will comeback and write a review!! (:

I am actually out of comments, because I do not know much of the storyline yet. I am secretly hoping that this drama will have a happy ending! [not like Sweetness in the Salt, which ending TOTALLY PISSED ME OFF]

TVB series Sweetness in the Salt Review.

Well, it's been quite some time since I last wrote a review.. SO my reviewing skills are kinda rusty. And yes, there's only 2 photos, so things might get a bit dry. I try to be interesting yeah?

When I first saw this photo, I was having second thoughts about this drama because it's just so similar to Land Of Wealth [which was amazingly BORING] And yes, thank god they changed Joey Leung away, otherwise how will Raymond Wong get to shine in the drama! HAHAHA

Warning: The review might get a bit... personal [or rather, tempremental] Anyway, I am going to start the review now, so VERY EXCESSIVE SPOILERS ahead!

The world is full of WHY(s).

Why did I watch this drama?
1. STEVEN MA
2. I have a crush on Tavia Yeung after watching her outstanding performance in Moonlight Resonance
3. Yes, I am a mini fan of Raymond Wong since Central Affairs
4. I don't know what to watch.

After watching the drama:

1. I am officially a fan of Raymond Wong. I really hope TVB open their eyes a bit and stop promoting stars that are NOT WORTH promoting but promote stars that are able to act instead. Let all Raymond [or Ting Hin] fans pray this come out of the warehouse, and he gets nominated for his role.

2. I HATE THE SCRIPTWRITER. WHY MUST TING HIN DIE. TELL ME. He recovered from diabetes LIKE FINALLY I get to hear him talk faster [that's not the point though], GAVE ME A BIT OF HOPE, and he dies of some stupid external injury. I totally got turned off, and stopped halfway at episode 23 and went all the way to episode 25 last scene. [I didn't really bother to watch how the bad guys die or what. I alr said, once Raymond Wong's character die, I stop the drama]. Anyway the part when he is dying [episode 23 is HIS], I CRIED LIKE MAD. It's been so long since a drama made me cry!! So I say this is worth watching.

As I said, I went all the way to the last scene.. [let me assume that Tavia left Steven because of certain sensitive issues? Love, lies, murder?]

so what kind of ending is this? I NEED SOME ENLIGHTENMENT. I only saw Tavia come out of a bunch of rocks, saw a firefly [I assume this is Raymond Wong], and this scene came. THEN IT ENDED!!!!!!!! *#$#$%#*^#^)#(!*)(!

3. I somehow hate the way the love stories go... So does Sing Suet even love Ting Hin? Why is Ting Hin so stubborn to give up his love relationship even after recovery? Why can't Chi Yuen just leave when he saw Sing Suet so happy with Ting Hin?

4. I feel that Pierre Ngo is quite irritating in the drama [more irritating than the bad guys]. Why can't his character [Ting Fai] learn his lesson after so many episodes?!?! It's just plain irritating I don't know what to say.

5. I really like the Ting Hin-Sing Suet pair. AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED, THEY DIDN'T EVEN AT LEAST HUG IN THE DRAMA!! WHAT IS THIS.

6. I would say that all the salt trading parts in the beginning of the drama are boring, other than that, the love stories and how they completed the mission are really the crux of the drama.

7. Even as a Steven Ma fan, I am sorry to say that he failed to shine in this drama. Sometimes I felt that his acting [in this particular drama only] was a bit overboard. At the part when he was quarrelling with his mum, the entire feeling felt weird. At the part when he was suffering from some epidemy, I didn't really feel for his character. I think his character in the drama is too righteous, that it becomes hard to be convincing. But sometimes, I am really curious about Steven Ma's character. Chi Yuen seems to have a lot of secrets in his mind, which makes him particularly interesting to look at. However, I still prefer the righteous Sheung Chi in Safe Guards!!

8. As a new Tavia fan, as much as she did really well in the drama, she's not my favourite character.. Her best scene was the one when her mum and dad died. Wah, I could so totally feel her tears man!!! It was so good that, it's good. Other than all the crying scenes [I love to see her cry], her scenes are quite normal. I think the problem lies in the character herself. Sing Suet is too simple [one look you know what kind a person she is] a person, thus I'm actually not very interested in how the character develops and stuff.. But I really do admire Sing Suet's toughness and the way she handled things after she became in-charge. Oh ya, the bangs, they have to do something to it. It ruins her hair!!!

9. As a small Raymond fan, I am proud to say that he has done really well in this drama!! Ting Hin is my favourite character! At first I thought his character will be boring!!! BUT NO! His character is a little selfish, righteous, ~~sick~~, clever, nice.. It's like a mixture of everything which makes his character particularly lovable. He's always thinking, and nobody seems to understand his mind, but he's able to understand everyone's mind [this sounds scary], his character had a lot of development points, which is why I like Ting Hin a lot. He also becomes the factor of pity when he fell in love with Sing Suet, but is unable to let his emotions out because of his illness. I also liked the way he handles matters in the family! He looks so man when he does business!!! Argh, if I continue listing this point will never end.

10. Ram Tseung rocks in the drama! Like always, I love him to act as such characters!! Funny, and righteous [although he looks like a playboy on the outside]. I have nothing much to say about his, because almost all his scenes are greats! I totally burst out laughing when he painted all the corrupted officials drawings!! It's simply LOL. His chemistry with Halina Tam is also worth mentioning! I think they are a cute pair!

11. Kwok Fung is also another great cast in the drama!! He's really funny (: I totally loved his chemistry with Raymond Wong and Tavia Yeung!! (: As much as Wu Kin is a selfish and self centered person, I really admire the way the qualities of the character is displayed. His best parts are when he ended up in jail.. When Sing Suet went to the jail to visit Wu Kin, those moments are the best seriously. And also when he shows his concerns for Raymond Wong. Gosh, I almost thought they are really father and son. At the part when he was asked to take up the Head Trader post again, he talked about Ting Hin's contribution to the family and everything. It's simply touching!! I could totally feel their chemistry even though Ting Hin doesn't exist anymore..

12. I think as much complaints/compliments I have for the drama, this drama is actually not bad! I would not say that it is the best or what, but the script is quite nicely written [although it gets boring in the middle and only gets exciting after episode 14 or so] because it tries to bring out the best qualities of the individual characters. Good acting + good script = good drama. It's highly recommended for Raymond Wong and Tavia Yeung fans. I think Steven Ma fans shouldn't watch this. Watch Safe Guards again can le. (:

TVB series 2008: The Overall Review.

I watched quite a lot of dramas I REALISED like omg!!! Maybe cos after I had finished my exams, I had a marathon with the TVB dramas.. I watched half a year's worth of drama in 1 month!! *How did I even managed to do it..* So I am gonna do a mini drama review! (: It seems to me that the series from the first half of the year are more well recieved. Amazingly, 2008 was a great year for many dramas, because NOTHING was warehoused. Sweetness in the Salt sadly, broke the trend.

Mini intro: It's a sequel to Survivors' Law. More cases, more love.
Why did I watch: Cos I LOVED PART 1.

Why should you watch: Liza Wang and Benz Hui are terrific!!! (: And omg, Derek Kwok acts so well as gay can! Another thing to note: this drama is HILARIOUS.
Thumbs down: Myolie Wu gets a tweeny bit irritating at certain parts of the drama because she always makes things worse for Liza Wang. And yeah, Vivien Yeo is quite sluttish in the drama.
Status: Ranked 3rd, with 41 peak points and a highest rating points of 37.

Mini intro: Story of the emperor bowl, and a "sequel" to The Gentle Crackdown, similarly, there's a change in 90% of the casts too.

Why should you watch: The 5 useless constables are hilarious, and Wayne Lai is oustanding. Steven+Wayne = Good Chemistry!!!!!!!!! The love story between Yumiko and Steven is cute too.
Thumbs down: Wayne Lai is too outstanding, it overpowers the 2 main leads. [Is that even a reason?] oh oh, I don't like Yumiko's hair in the drama..
Status: Ranked 7th, with highest peak points of 37, and average points of 32.

Mini intro: It's all about food and love. About a not so nice woman who doesn't know how to cook but she is actually famous in the food industry for knowing how to cook, thank god she has a good boyfriend.
Why did I watch: Bernice Liu and hmm, the themesong was nice so it kinda captured me.
Why should you watch: It's very light hearted and family friendly. And I must say Dexter Yeung is quite good for a newcomer.
Thumbs down: I think it is a drama you will easily forget, and I must say it gets a little boring towards the back.
Status: Ranked 9th, with highest peak points of 36 and average ratings of 32.

Thumbs down: I don't like Kenneth's character in the drama!! And the ending sucked.

Nancy did a great job as the unfaithful wife, Nancy did a great job as the "hard life" first wife [it's really a huge difference from what she always acts as], Christine Ng did a great job by slapping Paul Chun and cursing him towards the end of the drama and the chemistry between Shirley and Jack is cute. (:
Thumbs down: I think that this drama is not widely recognised enough. *Is that even a thumbs down?*
Status: Ranked 4th, peaking at 40 points, average of 34 points.

Mini intro: Our famous dragon girl comes back to act. This is a story about a cop and a thief [that's kinda of too simple right?]
Why did I watch: I remember someone introduced this drama to me.
Why should you watch: I really liked Damien Lau as the thief!!!! Johnson Lee and newcomer Koni Lui are really good!!! Actually I finished the drama because of the "thieves". I think they are amazing. The cops are irritating
Thumbs down: I feel that Fala and Idy's presence are not needed in the drama. And sometimes [no offence] I really cannot stand Idy Chan. And I hated the fact that Johnson Lee died in the drama.
Status: Ranked 6th, peaking at 38 and average points of 33.

The players: Bobby Au Yeung, Cheng Kevin, Yoyo Mung, Charmaine Sheh, Frankie Lam, Linda Chung, Raymond Cho, Florence Kwok
Mini intro: Sequel to Forensic Heroes, with the usual people [+2 more] coming together to solve cases and showing us the wonders of forensic science.
Why did I watch: I quite liked part 1 so I continued.
Why should you watch: The technology is seriously amazing.
Thumbs down: I gave up halfway... I don't know why I think it was boring that I couldn't find the concentration to finish the drama..
Status: Ranked 5th, peaking at 39 and average points of 34.

Mini intro: About a deaf girl who has a passion for dubbing, and the story of her disability. How much sorrows it gave her etc..

Why should you watch: It's quite interesting to know more about the dubbing world.. And Chris Lai is funny in the drama. And I must say Kate Tsui has improved in her acting.
Thumbs down: IT'S BORING!!! Even though I am a huge fan of kenneth, I was really struggling to finish the drama when I reached the middle. The fast forward button becomes very tempting to press.

Why did I watch: I got very into Raymond Wong after Sweetness in the Salt so I decided to watch all his dramas.
Why should you watch: Gallen Lo is back! Yeah, he STILL rocks. This drama is hilarious I must say! And the animals are amazing! I wonder how hard/easy was it to finish the filming.. And Margie and Lui Fong look cute together.
Thumbs down: Those cat and dog dubbings gives me shivers. And it's not a happy ending.

Why did I watch: I LOVED Heart of Greed, so I decided to watch this along with the flow since it's so widely recognised.
Why should you watch: The family affairs makes the drama amazing. Tavia's tears are so great that I became a fan of her after the drama. I never knew she can cry so beautifully! Susanna, Michelle and Louisa still rocks as ever. I didn't know Susanna can be such a comedian until this drama. Chan Fala, it must be hard on her!! She had to do dubbing, learn how to use hand language... And I greatly appreciate her effort!! She's great too. Lee Heung Kam is another great woman. Basically, the women took all the limelight!!!!!!
Thumbs down: Linda Chung is the only female lead I don't appreciate in the drama... No offence, I think that she's over acting with all her tears!! Gosh, it simply pisses me off, and poor Raymond+Bosco [especially Bosco], I skipped all their parts with her. And sadly, Moses fails to shine in the drama. Although I still love him as "Zha Gu", I prefer Tak Tak Tei more! (:
Status: Top series of 2009, peaking at 50 [OH MY GAWD] and average points of 47 [or 37?].

Mini intro: About 4 young guys who meet, become justice of crime, and gradually know about how important each other is to make things work.
Why did I watch: ALL 4 guys and Selena! HAHAHA
Why should you watch: Sammul is amazing in the drama. He's really cute, witty and funny. And the chemistry of all 4 constables towards the end is great. One person I have to mention is Selena Li, I think without her, I won't have the courage to even finish the drama. Ron too!! He barely spoke up to 20 sentences in the drama can!!! I felt that his acting is good from the expression of his eyes. And I liked the love chemistry between Selena and Kenneth.
Thumbs down: Kate Tsui [I feel that she should die at the end of the drama because she is so wicked she doesn't deserve to be loved by Raymond Lam], Ron's girl [whoever that is] has very bad acting and the stupid ending.
Status: Ranked 8th, peaking at 36 and average of 32 points.

Mini intro: About a man who got wrongly accused for killing his stepfather, and the killer goes out scotfree. 10 years later, he gets released and he vows to catch the person who got him into trouble.
Why did I watch: ROGER IS THE BAD GUY. How can I miss this.
Why should you watch: I felt that Yoyo and Kevin have improved a lot from this drama. And there's no bad acting, which is good. Elaine Yiu is better in acting now too. (:
Thumbs down: *I haven't finish the drama yet, so not much comments here* Well, I felt that it's a bit slow, and sadly, it's not well recieved. I felt that it should deserve more attention from the public. The grandma is kinda irritating in the drama. I mean yes, you hate ur grandson for being so bad, but you shouldn't harp on it too much..

GOSH! So Wayne Lai is the bad guy??? OMG, I AM SO GONNA WATCH IT!! There was simply TOO little news about this drama itself, I don't even know what is the storyline!!!! And the videos make me even more excited about watching Wayne Lai in the drama!!

So, this story basically revolves mostly around Kent Cheng, and the others are either supporting him, or harming him. And apparently, Wayne Lai is the biggest obstacle to Kent Cheng's success.

So why is this drama warehoused? We won't know the answer right? Sometimes I really wish Wayne Lai gets more attention from TVB just like Raymond Wong.. Don't you all agree?

It has not been officially released yet, once it's released, we can start accessing whether this drama is wrongly warehoused or not.

Sweetness in the Salt.

Starring: Steven Ma, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Wong, Joel Chan, Kwok Fung...

Nip Chi Yuen (Ma Steven), who works in the anti-smuggling camp, is determined to wipe out the Tau's Fort, which is the stronghold for salt smugglers. He pretends to be a down-and-out scholar. Tau Seng Suet (Tavia Yeung), daughter of the chief smuggler, sympathizes with Chi Yuen and puts him up in the village. Later, they even become fond of each other. During an anti-smuggling operation Seng Suet is badly hurt and has since been separated from Chi Yuen and her family. Fortunately she is saved by Wu Ting Hin (Raymond Wong), son of salt merchant Wu Kin (Kwok Fung). Ting Hin takes her home. One day, Seng Suet saw the dead bodies of her parent being hung on the wall of the city tower, and that the official standing on the top of the tower telling the public not to sell smuggled salt is none other than the man she misses day and night. She is heartbroken, and her love for Chi Yuen turns into hatred that moment on.

Ting Hin finds a job for Seng Suet at the salt company his family runs to help her get over her unhappiness. To repay him, she devotes herself entirely to the job. As time goes by, Ting Hin starts to fall in love with her. However his critical illness making him hesitates to express his love for her. Seng Suet's real identity comes to light when her younger uncle reappears out of the blue. Ting Hin, for fear that his family will report Seng Suet, proposes to her.

I really like the themesong.. (: I think it's nice although Tavia isn't exactly an excellent singer *now, don't get me wrong, I like her*

Some comments:
I am currently watching Sweetness in the Salt now, and I am loving it! Somehow it reminds me of the old Safe Guard days. But then again, it sort of reminds me of the Land of Wealth days too when I can't even finish the drama. Let's wait and see then [I am quite scared]

I only have 1 thing to ponder over: Why isn't Tavia angry over Raymond's family? Indirectly they caused Tavia's family's death..

Let's access the people individually:

1. Tavia Yeung
I feel that Tavia fans should really watch it, she really cries very well!! I watched episode 2 and I felt that the crying scenes she has done are really good. HER TEARS ARE REAL MAN. However, Tavia managed to shine only in that particular scene. In terms of character, I feel that Raymond Wong is the most outstanding so far.. Omg I am falling into the "I love tavia" hole! [Sounds kinda wrong I know.] And I want Tavia to be with Raymond in the end! I really hope that Tavia's role in the drama shines even further towards the end because currently Raymond Wong is stealing away all the limelight. [Or is it my expectations are too high after MR?]

2. Steven Ma
He hasn't appeared much in the drama yet, not many outstanding appearances yet. When I watched episode 2 I had some misunderstandings about Steven Ma's character, BUT I was wrong! As a HUGE Steven fan even, and no offence, I feel it will be kinda hard for Steven's role to shine.. Maybe his character will be very important towards the end of the drama. I have confidence in Steven!

3. Raymond Wong
Raymond Wong looks really ill in the drama! *Well he is acting as a sick man..* I am really worried that he might just die at the end of the drama!!!!! :( Anyway, I am so happy that Raymond Wong is acting as such a great person!! FINALLY HE IS GOOD GUY. He's always a bad guy in modern dramas!! I think that Raymond Wong is quite a good actor ever since ATV's central affairs, but he's always getting all the **** roles, and I thought he acted well in Easterly Showers but pity the ratings. Now this drama is warehoused after he gets such a good role.. So far, I feel that his character as Ting Hin is doing the best because of all his has done so far. Anyway, I think that Raymond Wong will be the one making the audiences cry towards the end... :(

4. Others
As usual, Joel Chan is the big baddie, and starts wondering if Steven's godfather [Felix Lok] is really that upright not.

Things that I do not want to happen:
1. Raymond to die in the end [I saw the opening theme and feels very sad that Raymond Wong is actually becoming a sick groom]
2. Tavia to not end up being with Steven/Raymond
3. The story to become boring towards the end like Land of Wealth.

Food for Thought: WHY IS THE DRAMA WAREHOUSED?!?!?!?!?!?!? Finally Tavia gets a lead role this kind of thing happens.....

Tvb Calendar 2009.

Okay, IT'S A BRAND NEW YEAR!!! (: SO EXCITING RIGHT! The long awaited 2009 calendar is out! They shot the photos 1 month ago, and it's finally out. Hmm, this time the release date is around 1 month later than last time, but oh wells.. Anyway, this year's shots is quite decently done, because there are lesser people in each month = no squeezing = good.

HAHA, these are gotten from tvb.com *if you are attentive enough to search the artises blogs...* It's a good thing, BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE TO SCAN ANYMORE! AND THERE IS NO WATERMARK!! That's even better! Just rmb to credit the official website itself when u take the scans!

Comments: Quite a nice shot taken, because I have a huge tendency to admire jump shots. Bosco jumped quite nicely. Somehow if you look clearly, Kate looks kinda weird [don't get me wrong]. and it's obvious these 4 are the most heavily promoted tvb stars right now.

Febuary: Susanna Kwan 關菊英, Kiki Sheung 商天娥, Louise Lee 李司棋, Nancy Sit 薛家燕, Michelle Yim 米雪
Comments: Hmm, it looks like some random group shot. Hmm, MICHELLE LOOKS GORGEOUS. As always right?

March: Roger Kwok 郭晉安, Charmaine Sheh 佘詩曼, Sonija Kwok 郭羨妮, Michael Miu 苗僑偉
Comments: I only thought that the 2 guys looked too casual beside the 2 ladies. There's a tendency that Sonija Kwok looks nice in Tvb Calendar shots ya? The fake teardrops were quite spoilsport though.. And it reminds me of a movie, but I can't think of an answer now.

April: Sunny Chan 陳錦鴻, Myolie Wu 胡杏兒, Joe Ma 馬德鐘
Comments: Hmm, Myolie looked totally weird. Sunny looks good in that hair *reminds me of Once Upon A Time In China*, but the lighting omg so dark. Joe is alright.. Overall this shot is weird.

May: Kenneth Ma 馬國明, Yoyo Mung 蒙嘉慧, Selena Li 李詩韻, Shirley Yeung 楊思琦, Chris Lai 黎諾懿
Comments: The girls look totally weird esp Shirley with that hair, Kenneth shouldn't release one of that jumper thingy, and Chris looks handsome. And are we supposed to wear 3D glasses to see the photo better? It looks better than April, but I still don't really like this shot though even though I love Kenneth *the calendar months he appear in always look disastrous*.

Comments: It's too close up for me to handle! They made Steven look so old!!!! But well, this photo is so happy, very summer-ish, so I quite like it.

Comments: At first glance it looked a teeny wheeny bit weird, but after a few looks, I actually like this shot. Tavia is gorgeous cos she looks so natural *omg I think I am in love with her after looking at her super duper good crying scenes in MR*. Kevin looked kinda out of place though cos he doesn't look sailor-ish with his clothes.

Comments: Ugh, I find this shot unnatural and too organised already.

Comments: Although I am not a fan of a single one of them, but I like this shot. It's my second favourite in fact. It's really cool, and all of them look really good. And September is my favourite month cos it's my birthday month! SO PROUD!

October: Gallen Lo 羅嘉良、Bernice Liu 廖碧兒、Bobby Au Yeung 歐陽震華、Maggie Siu 邵美琪
Comments: Other than the fact that the mascara of the girls are too thick, the rest is fine! All of them look good! This is my 3rd favourite.

November: Lam Bowie 林保怡、Gigi Lai 黎姿、Ada Choi 蔡少芬、Moses Chan 陳豪
Comments: The anniversary month! And this is the last time we are going to see Gigi in a calendar cos she's leaving tvb.. Anyway, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MONTH! All 4 of them look gorgeous, and omg omg ADA AND MOSES!!! MY FAVOURITE PAIR!!!! The both of them look so nice!!! Don't you all agree? It's like my desktop wallpaper now *although it's not november...* And I am looking forward to the Ada-Moses drama! YAY.

December: Amigo Cui 崔建邦、Matthew Ko 高鈞賢、Jason Chan 陳智燊、Liza Wang 汪明荃、Benjamin Yuen 袁偉豪、Edwin Siu 蕭正楠、Stephen Wong 黃長興
Comments: It sort of reminded me of Gigolo Wannabe [a japanese movie] *totally no offence*, I just find this shot ultimately weird. I mean like Liza standing right in the middle with 6 guys, you can't help but think otherwise.

Overall comments: Other than a few weird shots, somehow I liked the simplicity of the calendar shots. If all the shots are somewhere near the Sep-Nov ones, the calendar will be perfect.

Hmm.. Sammul Chan, Jessica Hester Hsuan, Wong Hei and a few others are not in the calendar after appearing for so many years! Which is kinda sad.. :( I guess maybe they do not have a contract with TVB, that's why the absence..

Sales Presentation 2009

Okay so the Sales Presentation 2009 was held around 1-2 weeks ago, and I managed to watch it live, and of course, I have downloaded the video online to watch again so I could make some comments *of course if anyone wants it I would upload it*.

and waits for the Tvb calendar with great anticipation...

2009 seems like a good year, I am looking forward! And Moses Chan is involved in a lot of many dramas this time!

1. 飛女正傳

Cast: Ada Choi, Moses Chan, Raymond Cho, Kenny Wong..
Comments: When I saw the video, I thought it's the kind that will be shown in the Sales Presentation, but it will never be filmed. However, I HAVE HEARD NEWS THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE FILMED IN DECEMBER!!! Ever since Ada's appearance in To Catch the Uncatchable, I actually started admiring her comedic talents!! You can't imagine how excited I am now. I hope Ada ends up with Moses in the drama itself!! I like this pair A LOT. I hope the outlook of them changes. I was appalled with how Ada and Moses looked in the clip!!!
Conclusion: I will watch it.
Status: Costume fitting soon.

2. 學警狙擊 a.k.a E.U

Cast: Ron Ng, Michael Miu, Sammul Chan, Kathy Chow, Kaki Leung..
Comments: I didn't watch The Academy and On the First Beat *for some weird reasons*, and I know they are related. I know the first 2 were very well received *well, otherwise why even release a part 3?* but I didn't really pay attention to that part of the sales presentation cos I think I won't watch part 3 until I watch part 1 and 2..
Conclusion: Shifting it aside for the time being!
Status: Filming is finished!

3. 鐵馬尋橋

Cast: Raymond Lam, Yuen Wah, Yuen Chau
Comments: Hmm, as much as I like the 3 of them, I think this clip is pointless... Oh, it sort of reminded me of the comedic version of Master of Tai Chi. This part of the presentation made me feel like I was watching nothing. There was no overall storyline, only fighting. -.o
Conclusion: I doubt they will even film this drama.
Status: Unknown.

4. 古靈精探II a.k.a D.I.E 2

Cast: Roger Kwok, Sonija Kwok, Derek Kwok, Kitty Yuen, Nancy Wu, Mimi Lo..
Comments: WHERE IS KENNETH MA!!!! But well, I didn't like his character in D.I.E II so I guess the new producer [yes they changed the producer] did me a favour by removing him.. Argh, but what about Margie Tsang?! Who is going to act as Roger's sister if she leaves? And I really loved Derek and Margie's chemistry!! It's quite a waste to end that relationship right? Well, I guessed they released a part 2 because part 1 was exceptionally well recieved *but unfortunately became 2nd place because of MR*. A change of producer to the one I don't really admire, I hope part 2 actually turns out good...
Conclusion: Thank goodness there's still Roger, I am anticipating this!
Status: Filming in progress.

5. 金錢誘罪

Cast: Gallen Lo, Kenix Kwok, Anita Yuen, Ray Lui, Joe Ma, Jaime Chik, Krystal Tin, Nancy Sit, Kenneth Ma, Vincent Wong..
Comments: Gallen Lo and Kenix Kwok! They are back!! Now I hope there is no more changes to the cast, and it's been a while since TVB released a drama with so many good casts! The best part is... KENNETH MA is going to be the baddie for the drama! Oh my gawd, that is something worth looking forward to for now!! However, one sad thing was, Bernice was supposed to be in the cast as seen in the presentation, but somehow she was replaced by someone else *I am not sure who though*. And the monopoly style of the presentation looks cool.
Conclusion: Don't stop me from watching this drama. *I guess it will become the Anniversary series or a grand production kind of drama for 2009*

6. 巾幗梟雄

Cast: Wayne Lai, Ngok Wah, Sheren Tang, Ron Ng, Kiki Sheung, Suki Tsui..
Comment: Wayne Lai + Sheren Tang = Good ratings. Enough said? I have good feeling about the outcome of this drama. It's looking so good that I have no comments to make. I am happy that Wayne Lai is finally receiving some attention from TVB after so many years.
Conclusion: I will watch it, DEFINITELY

7. 宮心計

Cast: Moses Chan, Tavia Yeung, Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng, Susanna Kwan, Michelle Yim, Selena Li...
Comments: Why does this reminds me of War and Beauty? Anyway, Charmaine and Kevin seems to be a heavily promoted pair this time *judging from the obvious promotion of this couple during the 41st Anniversary Show* and I am actually quite tired of seeing this heavily promoted pair. But, it seems that it's Kevin-Tavia and Charmaine-Moses relationship instead. The cast is impressive, and I am currently in love with the Tavia-Moses pair after 25 episodes of MR, so I would end up giving this a chance. Hmm, it would be interesting to see Tavia acting as a baddie.
Conclusion: I will watch it if the cast remains.

8. 蔡鍔與小鳳仙

Cast: Damien Lau, Kathy Chow, Kenneth Ma, Toby Leung, Krystal Tin, Angela Tong..
Comments: This drama seems to be full of potential. Although I dislike the fact that Kenneth and Toby are going to be paired up.. Hmm, I have some reservations for this drama, but for Kenneth, I know I won't be able to resist myself and watch it. But then again, Kenneth seems to be involved in all the serious dramas this time, why no comedies?
Conclusion: I guess but the story seems boring.

9. 烈火雄心 III a.k.a Burning Flame 3

Cast: Wong Hei, Bosco Wong, Kevin Cheng, Myolie Wu..
Comments: There is a lot of news coverage of this drama, I have not much comments for this, but I guess it should turn out good. I GUESS. But all I saw in the sales presentation *like what presented for last year*, was FIRE.
Conclusion: I loved part 1 and 2, I will watch the 3rd.

Through the help of Tai Wai, Kam Chau becomes the Operation Director of the soccer team and he promised to help all team players achieve excellent results in the coming public examinations. Kam Chau teaches the team players in an unconventional way. He encourages them to hang around at pubs and chase girls actively and of course, the result is disastrous. Ching Kwok Chu (Derek Kwok), the soccer team's sponsor, tries to hire the famous tutorial queen Yim Ka Lai (Sheren Tang) to help coaching the team. Ka Lai's teaching style is totally different from Kam Chau and they fight with each other all the time.

The academic performance of the team varies a lot but Kam Chau discovers that Tai Wai's son Fan Pui Tung (Him Law) has plenty of potential so he pays special attention to him. During the time, Kwok Chu's younger brother suddenly takes away the ownership of the soccer team. Kwok Chu tries to take revenge by asking Ka Lai to make the soccer team into a mess. Kam Chau is enraged and he discloses the secret relationship between Kwok Chu and Ka Lai to everybody. All of a sudden, Ka Lai's career came to an end...

I will definitely watch this drama!! Ever since Shine On You, I have been waiting for a drama that is of this genre!! I love school comedies!! They are innocent and nice to watch!!

Especially when all the good actors and actresses like Bobby, Benz, Derek and Sheren in this drama!! Although I am not a big fan of them, I am sure a combination like this won't be a disappointing one!

Sometimes I feel the storyline is kinda weird a little.. I mean the entire show is about soccer only?? Don't they have to study? HAHA!

Introduction:

He also develops an entangling relationship with his cousin Lo Ka Mei (Kate Tsui) and Suen Ho Yuet at the same time. On the other hand, Wing Ho takes up the role of a father in the family and he works hard all the time to earn a living. Wing Ho loves his childhood friend Chau (Linda Chung) whole-heartedly but Chau is in love with the doctor Ling Chi Sun (Bosco Wong).

Siu Ho works hard unconditionally to strive for the well being of her family members. Yan Hung, on the other hand, is a very mean person who values her own benefits only. Tai Cho is caught between the two women all the time and he feels helpless. One day, a disaster happens at the cake shop. The Story

Everyone couldn't get over the Heart of Greed fever, so naturally, we would have a higher expection or some sort towards this new drama.

Basically, I see not much change in the storyline, it's okay, because we love it! All the characters sort of changed, and new characters are introduced.. We all would just sit back and wish that this would be equally good as Heart of Greed. But I am curious, why is it like 60 episodes?? That's very long!! Please correct me if it is only 40 episodes.

I think Raymond, Susanna and Michelle are gonna stand out in this drama this time.. That's what I think though.. What do you all think??

Hmm, about the relationships, I am really interested in the Moses-Tavia combination, at least for once she's not with Bosco or Raymond, so that is quite a fresh start. I am interested in the blood boiling relationship between the 2 families, and how many tear shedding scenes are there going to be.. (:

I have not fully grasped the meaning of this themesong yet, but indeed the new one sounds as depressing as the previous one!! I like both songs actually, cos Susanna Kwan, undoubtedly can SING VERY WELL!!! Omg I am just a big fan of the songs she sings!! The past themesongs she sang for some classic tvb series were just SO NICE AND SO PERFECT! Really talented.. Can sing and can act!

Since this is a grand production, my comments shall be longer this time. Omg, I was appalled when I saw the poster.. It's like so photoshop-ish to the extent that some of them look really fake.. Tell me, what is the difference in the poster of Moonlight Resonance and Heart of Greed?! Other than some very obvious changes to the sitting arrangement *i will explain that*, the colour [the blending of colours is not bad..], and the abalone is replaced by the mooncake, what is the difference??

I thought the producer once said that he doesn't want people to think that this is "Heart of Greed"?? *If you get what I mean..*

Michelle Mai and Susanna Kwan has a change of seats, since they have a change of character.. Michelle is the BAD GUY! Omg, my nice nice aunt!!! :( Raymond Lam and Bosco Wong has a change of seats too, since Raymond has gotten into the family and Bosco became the guest star instead. Shan't explicitly elaborate the rest for now, I will wait till the plot and stuff comes out. [HAHA, actually all of us know what is going to happen in Moonlight Resonance. Don't we?]

And Michelle's hair!! It totally stumped me... I mean like, a bad guy doesn't necessarily need to have bad hair rite??

For me, I prefer the old poster, the new one is too HD for me to accept I guess. Makes them look really fake. What's your opinion then??

Miu Chun accidentally realises that Hoi Leung is together with another woman. Chi Yu turns to Miu Chun for advice since she has found that Hoi Leung has an affair with another woman. The two of them gradually develop feelings on each other but they don't know how to express themselves. During the time, Man Chi Kei (Liu Bernice Jan), the daughter of the big boss, suddenly pursues Miu Chun. Miu Chun finally realizes who his true love is but the timing is just not right.

When romance is dead, everything turns terrible and destructive.

Okay, one thing. I have always thought that Christine Ng is acting in this series!!! *Cos of the sales presentation I guess, but anyway, ever since the sales presentation, I have always wanted to watch this series!! I mean especially when Michael and Anita held their hands, I totally freaked out!!! OMG don't you agree with me??

Anyway, the few promotional trailers definitely got me interested. They are just so creepy and stuff!!! Even though there isn't any of my idols acting in this drama, I am going to give this a try! (: The theme of the drama scares me also! "When romance is dead...", everything turns scary. HAHA!

It's Anita's first TVB series, I guess it's quite a fresh start too! And Michael is as charming as ever!

Okay, I thought this is supposed to be released later than Man In Charge!

Anyway, that is not the main point. Hey I was quite disappointed with the poster!!! Cos it makes it look like it's-just-another-love-story and I hate that kind of feeling!!

The trailers look really cute, reminds me of artist Jimmy's works, that chalky, line-ly feeling. Don't know how to describe it though.

I wasn't really interested in the story when it was first introduced. But for some reason, I am watching this definitely, because it's sort of Kenneth's first male lead series to be released and Chris Lai is in the series!! I don't really like the presence of Kate Tsui though [no offence cos she can't act that well to be the first female lead yet] but it seems that many people like the Kenneth-Kate pairing a lot.. Christ Lai is finally not acting a "very good guy if he recieves any big roles" anymore, so I am quite looking forward to it...

Many people told me that they are not watching this drama, but my stand still remains firm. I really hope Kenneth fans will watch it! (:

I am not a fan of romance, so basically my views of this series from now on will be very biased, now I am watching for the people in it, not the storyline. Go Kenneth!! (:

I have mixed feelings after hearing some random comments from friends who have started watching this series...

#1. I want to watch it because I think I need a good laugh or some relaxing time after all the intensity in Catch Me Now, Silver Chamber Of Sorrows and DIE [it's funny, but still it's a bit heart wrenching]..
#2. I was never really interested in this series somehow ever since the show started filming in the first place, but it came out at the right time.
#3. I admire Michael Tse after his outstanding performance in many dramas, that's why I want to watch it.
#4. However, there ain't any of my favourite TVB stars [except Joyce, who plays a baddie] in this series.
#5. The storyline itself didn't attract me. Not sure why, I still think I am the sort who needs a bit of adventure.
#6. This series looks seriously funny after the posters and stuff came out. It attracts people to watch, unlike Catch Me Now with a "omg such a plain" poster [but it's one good series I must say]. I should stop looking at posters that is..
#7. The videos I have watched make it seem like a good series. But then again, all the videos that are released always make the series look good, so I've just stated the obvious..
#8. Michael and Kiki looks like an unlikely couple. Dominic Lam and Kiki Sheung seem to suit each other more.
#9. I think I will give it a try after I finish FH2 and AJCL. At least I am giving it a try, unlike Tai Chi, which I threw into the "cold palace" [meaning I will watch it a year later] before even watching it.

Tvb Series that I have never watched.

It's been quite long since I last posted something else other than TVB series introduction.. Well, I have been a TVB fan for around 8 years already [well, I liked TVB series since young, but have not really become so obsessed with TVB until 2000..], I have watched a lot of TVB series, but I also HAVE NOT watched a lot of TVB series too, which is quite wrong because a TVB fan is supposed to watch every series!

So today I am going to write something about TVB series that I have not watched [those released between 2000 to 2006], and why I didn't watch them, and of course, I need your opinion on whether I should watch these TVB series not. Okay, enough of grandmother stories, I should start the 'review' now. Anyway, if you all notice, most of the series that I didn't catch are warehouse, warehouse-got-out-of-warehouse and anniversary series.

A Point of No Return (2003)
Why?: It's just fate that I can never get to watch this series. When it first released I was having an important exam. When it was shown on tv I was also having an important exam. Therefore I had never watched it.
Do I want to watch it?: Actually ya, cos I like Chilam Cheung, Sammul Chan and Damien Lau
Status: Top 10 TVB series in 2003, it was one of the anniversary series.

Always ready (2005)
Why?: I didn't watch it was partly because I was not really interested in the cast. But Shirley Yeung won an award for this series for the best supporting actress.
Do I want to watch it?: No?
Status: Well, it was aired, the last series in 2005 to be aired.

Armed Reaction 4 (2003)
Why?: Don't mistake me, I love the AR series, but I didn't watch this somehow!! Actually I wanted to watch it after my exams, but I don't know why everyone is telling me not to watch it since I am an Ada Choi fan.
Do I want to watch it?: I very much want to, but many people are telling me not to!
Status: It was warehoused for 1 year and aired in 2004, and ratings ain't very good.

Back to Square One (2003)
Why?: Pardon me, but I didn't really know the presence of this series because it was super low key! Not much publicity, not much ravings about this series also!
Do I want to watch it?: I am not sure about it myself!
Status: It was aired with Witness to A Prosecution 2, but they had quite an inverse relationship in terms of ratings.

Blade Heart (2004)
Why?: Yet again, it's fate. It was a grand production that took THREE long years to release! My local television didn't air it and many other factors that stopped me from watching it. Till now, I still haven't watch it yet cos there are just too many nice series these few years *and I am also busy with studies*
Do I want to watch it?: YEAH very much want to! RAYMOND LAM is in there!
Status: Sadly, as much as this series was a grand production and stuff, it was overated and didn't really have satistable ratings, which means it had one of the lowest ratings.

The Conquerer's Story (2004)
Why?: This was Maggie's last series in TVB before she left, anyway, I didn't watch this series partly because it wasn't really enticing to me.
Do I want to watch it?: Frankly speaking, not really, unless there are people who encourages me to watch it.
Status: Anniversary series. I am not very sure about the ratings, but I am quite sure the ratings is not as good as The Last Breakthrough.

Fantasy Hotel (2005)
Why?: It didn't have my idols, so I sort of skipped this series because of that, as much as I admire Wayne Lai.
Do I want to watch it?: It's quite a half half thing for me. If anyone strongly recommends this series, I might just watch it, after my exams of course.
Status: The ratings were okay...

Guts of Men (2005)
Why?: When I was about to watch it, Ten Brothers was released, as I liked the Ten Brothers story a lot, I decided to shelf this off and watched Ten Brothers instead. And in the end, I fell in love with Ten Brothers and sort of forgot about this series. Then in the end, when I want to watch it back again, I ran out of money.
Do I want to watch it?: I want to watch it! But I need opinions! Cos I can't find much information anywhere since this series was warehoused. I heard many negative comments about Mandy Cho though.
Status: Sadly, it was warehoused.

In the Realm of Fancy (2003)
Why?: It was Shirley Yeung's debut, and I ain't really fond of her that time, the story line looks weird so I decided not to catch this series.
Do I want to watch it?: Not really since not many people actually remembered the presence of this series.
Status: Not sure about the ratings, but it wasn't in the top ten.

Legend of Love (2003)
Why?: I know this series striked quite a lot of news because Sonija Kwok and Deric Wan really got together because of this series. Well, I didn't watch it partly because I had never liked the Cowboy and Weaving Maid story ever since I was young *no offence* as much as I like Deric Wan
Do I want to watch it?: Actually, I am not sure about it myself. Because I know Stephen Au and Leila Tong were much praised for their role.
Status: It was warehoused.

Men at Forty (2003)
Why?: None of the six leads are my idols, and I didn't find the storyline exactly appealing, therefore I didn't watch this series.
Do I want to watch it?: Not really, since no one recommended this series to me.
Status: It was warehoused for a year, but it didn't recieve good ratings in the end.

My Family (2005)
Why?: It's another act of fate.
Do I want to watch it?: Yeah, heard this series was very funny, and I LOVE ALEX FONG! (: And this was Harwick Lau's last TVB series, so it's proper to support him!
Status: Not bad, Ha Yu won Best Supporting Actor for this series.

Placebo Cure (2004)
Why?: I wasn't a fan of Kevin that time, as much as I find the poster interesting, but I wasn't really interested in the storyline. And since I didn't know much information about this series, I invested my money on other TVB series.
Do I want to watch it?: It was one of the first dramas that Kevin Cheng was the male lead in it, and I find the Joyce, Sunny and Kevin combination quite refeshing, so I think I want to watch it.
Status: It was sadly warehoused.

Strike At Heart (2005)
Why?: I had no courage to rent this series as much as I feeeeeel like watching it, so I waited for my local televsion station to air this series, but no avail.
Do I want to watch it?: Frankly speaking, a little, but no courage to rent it.
Status: It was warehoused.

Summer Heat (2004)
Why?: I wanted to watch it, but my friend stopped me and smashed my confidence for this series totally.
Do I want to watch it?: I kinda of want to watch it...
Status: Warehoused, again. Joyce Tang is quite poor thing, all the series of her being the first female lead are all warehoused.

Dragon Sword and Heavenly Sabre 2000 (2000)
Why?: This was aired on a weird timing on my local television so my mum forbade me to watch it.
Do I want to watch it?: Yea, the cast looks good.
Status: I am not sure, but it wasn't in the top ten for sure.

The Last Breakthrough (2004)
Why?: It was fate. When it was released on my local TV last year, I didn't watch it as I was having my promotional exams at that time. I didn't rent it initially because I was watching another series, which was a major disappointment [Spilt Second]
Do I want to watch it?: Of course! Raymond Lam wor!
Status: It was the anniversary series at that time, and the ratings were fairly decent.

Legend of Lady Yang 2000 (2000)
Why?: I was quite bored of the Kwong Wah and Anne Heung pairing so I decided to give it a miss, and I never really like Lady Yang stories since young.
Do I want to watch it?: Till now, even though the ratings were great, I still have not much interest yet.
Status: The ratings were not bad, it was ranked 6th.

Vilgilante Force (2003)
Why?: I am not sure about it myself even though I am a fan of Benny Chan.
Do I want to watch it?: Yes, because Tavia Yeung actually won Most Improved Actress because of her role in this series!
Status: The ratings were so-so only even though the cast was quite strong.

War and Destiny (2006)
Why?: I actually watched the first episode, but it was boring! So that's why I didn't continue and went to watch Face to Fate instead.
Do I want to watch it?: A little. But the first episode really turned me off.
Status: Well, the series was actually warehoused, but it was released in 2007, and the ratings weren't so bad after all, maybe because it's a war related movie.

That's all for my review! Hope no one feels offended or what. Yeah. stay tuned, I might put up a "I wish I didn't watch these series post" next! But might just not do so, because it might strike some controversial issues amongst readers...

Bomb disposal expert Yeung Yat Sing (Cheng Kevin) returns from England to visit relatives and he comes across a grenade case by accident. In a little while, Yat Sing becomes the division's rising star. By work, Yat Sing gets back in touch with his long-lost best friend Koo Chak Sum(Frankie Lam). SUM serves as a forensic writer and he is going to get married soon.

Accidentally Chak Sum's fiancée Lam Ting Ting (Chung Linda) is killed in an explosion and Yin Pok's police girlfriend Leung Siu Yau (Yoyo Mung) also loses the ability of holding a gun in the incident. Siu Yau's duties are passed to Ma Kwok Ying(Sheh Charmaine) from the Narcotics Bureau. Both Chak Sum and Yat Sing find Kwok Ying extremely charming with her smart and unfathomable characteristics in case handling.

Integrated the laboratory techniques, logical reasoning and forensic knowledge, the trio strive to fight against crimes tremendously. As they get to know each other more and more, the entangled triangle of love also starts to hinder their working relationships.

I am definitely watching part 2! Following the success of part one with a high ratings of 43 points, TVB has decided to release a sequel to this successful TVB series, with new casts Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng added inside. Looking at the poster, I think Charmaine sheh is the first female lead in this series.

As a Kevin fan, I have decided to watch this series also coupled with the fact that I loved part one, A LOT. Producer Mui never disappoints me! Which is why I am an ardent fan of her! HAHA. I think the plot looks good, except for the fact that they are going to kill off Linda Chung's character and cause some harm to Yoyo Mung. But then again, with no interesting twists like these, how will we get to watch great TVB series?

After watching the trailer, this series sure does look good, and with Bobby Au Yeung, I am sure this series won't be shabby.

Introduction

It's been quite long since I last saw most of them on screen!!! And THERE'S JACK WU!!! OMG! He looks handsome in there and I think he seems to have quite a big role inside! The promotional videos just make the series look so interesting!!

I think I will skip Catch Me Now and watch this instead!! Hope it's really good!

This series sort of reminds me of War and Beauty! Tragic love relationships, a kind of "I hate you, you hate me" scenarios! Nancy Sit, Christine Ng, Paul Chun, Shirley Yeung, Ng Wai Kok are all inside the series, they are all the good actors and actresses, I think this series is gonna be quite a hit!

The poster freaked me out when I checked out the official website today. It's so sorrow-ish [which suggests the name of the series] but I think it's quite lovely! HAHA hope it will be a hit!!! I am serious! (: Although not all of them are my idols, but still, I think the storyline is quite a pull factor.

I will watch this!

The story:

Not much comments right here.. There isn't any of my idols acting in this series, and hmm, it looks boring to me.. Maybe I don't like dramas with zero comedic content, that's why I am biased over here...

And I have decided not to watch this series for now... Because I have realised that I have zero interest for this series although it kinds of look good. I think posters really helps people make decisions.. The poster don't really look good somehow. And the cast also makes a difference too.. I mean Im not really fans of Fala Chan and Joe Ma. As much as I think that Damien Lau is charismatic, I am still not that interested to watch the show as yet..

So sorry to those that are fans of this series!

A Journey Called Life intro.

THe storyline [taken from Astro on Demand and edited by me a little]:
Sze Ka Ka (Chung Linda) becomes disobedient since her mother passed away at her young age. Ka Ka desperately searches for her mother's cremains which she has no idea why they have gone missing. Eventually, she is able to find the cremains in Kam Shek's (Kent Cheng) stone factory. Ka Ka's love to her mother impresses Kam Shek and his disciple Shing Yat On (Ma Steven) a lot. Yat On helps Ka Ka to solve many of her problems, he also finds her a job in his sister Shing Mei-Sum's (Chen Fala) company. Ka Ka appreciates all the things ON has done for her. Clearly, she adores him, but she does not confess her love to him because of her self-contempt. The love chance comes by the time when Kam Shek is staying in the hospital. Ka Ka replaces Kam Shek as the Marathon trainer with Yat On.

Mei-Sum is a money-oriented woman who wants to marry a rich man. She got herself inolved in a threesome with Kam Shek's son Kam Wing Loi(Raymond Cho) and her boss TUNG KA-CHEUNG (Cheng Tse Sing). She gets pregnant accidentally. Later, she has an abortion because she does not want the baby to ruin her chance to getting rich. The family is bitterly disappointed in Mei-Sum. Mei-Sum does not repent what she has done. Mei-Sum injures Ka Ka whom is pregnant by drunk driving. Yat On loses his battle for life since then.

Tvb Series D.I.E intro. [Detective Investigation Extension]

The "Death Investigation Extension (D.I.E.)" in the police force was established to accommodate those who have been sent away by their supervisors. As everybody knows, members of the Extension are to investigate unsolved cold cases. Yue Chi Long (Roger Kwok), who has cracked a large number of difficult cases by extrasensory means, is assigned to the D.I.E., believing that he will get promoted soon. Later Chi Long finds out that his supervisor still has a long way to go before he reaches retirement age. Hoping to leave the Extension as soon as possible, he gets to solve a lot of intriguing cases. New appointee Ying Ching Ching (Sonija Kwok) is a good-looking girl but she means to act tough and sassy in front of others. She takes an uncompromising stand over every case she deals with, which led her into constant quarrels with Chi Long. The relationship between the pair deteoriates day by day.

Chi Long's elder sister, Yue Chi Ching (Margie Tseung), has been living with him. While investigating an old case, Chi Long finds his long-lost father Yue Tai Hoi (Leung Ka Yan). Through close collaboration with Chi Long, Ching Ching gradually develops an affection for him. As she is still torn between Chi Long and her two-timer boyfriend Shing Ka Tsun (Kenneth Ma), Chi Long starts to avoid her without rhyme or reason. Feeling so confused about what is happening, Ching Ching decides to do some probing and is shocked to discover that Chi Long has been dogged by a female ghost called Siu Sin (Kitty Yuen).

As a HUGE HUGE Kenneth and Roger Kwok fan, it is a definite thing that I am watching this series! It's quite fast arh, yesterday I was on astro on demand, there's nothing on D.I.E, then suddenly today there is updates on that series! So I got excited and went around searching for promotional videos and stuff, but apparently I could only find 2 [still got 2 weeks before this series airs..]

I don't know much about this series, only know about the Kenneth and Margie rumour. HAHA jkjk. Personally as a detective story lover, I would definitely watch this series!! Kenneth Ma looks so hot in this series! And Roger is so cute!!! Personally don't like the fact that Sonjia was casted as the main female lead in this series, but still it's alright. Well, they didn't say much about who else is acting in this series, because I always see Roger, Kenneth and Sonija's face in all three videos I found.. This is a selective time once again, AND I WILL DEFINITELY WATCH THIS SERIES once I finish with TGC and TSD!

Hmm.. Melissa Ng has already given birth, TVB have dragged for a year, FINALLY THEY ARE SHOWING THIS SERIES.

I have mixed feelings about this series. Have the urge to watch it, somehow I don't have the urge to watch it too!

The list of people acting in this series is already one deciding factor, which is to watch it. Kenneth, Raymond, Selena and Myolie! I wouldn't miss it for the world man! But somehow after watching the trailer and the themevideo, it's quite a turn off. It looks boring!! And the summary of the series doesn't look very interesting either! I think maybe it's because Tai Chi is a very slow and calm kung fu, that's why the entire series imposes this kind of impression for the audience, which is not a very good start.

Omg, and the themevideo has no themesong. I was hoping so much for RAYMOND to sing the themesong! But nvm, he's singing the subtheme.

Anyway, it's a selective year for me, so I will give it a miss first. It doesn't mean I will skip this series! *The motto of a TVB fan is to watch every SINGLE series.* maybe the promotion clips will change my mind! It's always those promotional clips that trigger my TVB mood! But it is quite impossible because D.I.E (previously known as Curious Detective) is coming out! That's my BIGGER priority hor! Omg, 3rd Kenneth Ma series this year, and he still has 3 more to go [assuming Sweet Talk, The Four and Hidden Master are coming out this year.]

Different people have different attitudes to love - even those born on the same day in the same year do not necessarily share the same views. Yau Chi Wing (Cheng Kevin) and Hui Wai Yan (Bosco Wong) were both born on the seventh day of August, but one takes relationships seriously while the other is so money-minded and sees love as a tool to get higher up the social ladder.

The tale begins on the seventh of August, when Chi Wing and Wai Yan first encounter their own dream girl on the same island. Chi Wing works as a lifeguard on the outlying island. He gets to know pet shop assistant Ling Ka Yan (Niki Chow) by chance and is soon mesmerized by her endearing personality. Ka Yan who works at a coffee shop, meets a romance comic artist called Wong Chi Kwan (Natalie Tong). Being misled into believing that the girl is from a rich family, Wai Yan decides to chase her. He would never have thought that someone as calculating as himself would end up falling into a love trap.

I realised I didn't do intro for "Wasabi Mon Amour". Nvm, too late already.

I guess it's a great time for "Under the Canopy of Love" fans! Finally Bosco and Kevin do not have to vie with each other since they have different partners now! HAHAHA. It seems that Bosco and Kevin has a switch of roles now that Kevin is the better guy compared to Bosco in TSD. Especially after watching all the promotional clips, I REALLY WANT TO WATCH IT!

Actually this series was supposed to be aired last year, but somehow it was postponed. Anyway, it's great to know that this series is coming out! Although I am not a fan of romance, I am a fan of Kevin and Bosco! I will definitely watch it! *And I remembered watching The Gentle Crackdown with Under the Canopy of Love. Will history repeat itself?? HAHA. Guess not since it's not the holidays.*

Still disappointed that it's only Kevin singing the themesong.. I wanted a similar themesong like the one in "Under the Canopy of Love"!!! I love it so much that I can listen a million times and not get bored. If you want "The Seventh Day" themesong, tag my board and I will upload it! (: *And good news! This is definitely not a sequel, but whether it would be nice, we shall see. Introduction:

Having lost her father at an early age, farm security guard Chan Sai-Mui (Cheng Yumiko) grew to be an outspoken and determined woman who would do her utmost to protect her home village. It is her sincerity that has won her respect from all villagers of the Leung Choi County. Sometimes she would get too enthusiastic and impulsive that she could bring about a lot of misunderstandings. Amusingly, she has mistaken the newly appointed agricultural official Tse Wong Sheung (Steven Ma) for a thief and the two of them have been bitter enemies ever since. To keep himself from any possible trouble, Wong Sheung tries to avoid Sai Mui intentionally.

For the benefit of his son's future, Wong Sheung's father Tse Chong Yin (Ha Yu) has not only invited the intelligent Tai Tseung Man (Wayne Lai) to be Wong Sheung's assistant, but also found him four special bodyguards namely Chuk, Fun, Min and Fan. Despite the best arrangements for Wong Sheung, he still gets framed by the corrupted officials from Changsha and is in danger of facing the most torturing punishment. Luckily, Sai Mui and Tseung Man manage to save him in the nick of time with a jade bowl bestowed by the former emperor. To everyone's surprise, the jade bowl turns out a fake, but with Tseung Man's wit and courage, Wong Sheung is finally saved from danger.

Sai Mui goes through a lot together with Wong Sheung and starts to fall in love with him. Wong Sheung, on the other hand, has no feelings for Sai Mui and decides to turn to Tseung Man for tips as to how to break away from her. Mysteriously, Wong Sheung starts getting pursued by a hitman soon afterwards.

Yes, it looks cute! HAHA. I was thankful that they didn't make it modern or done some weird things to it. Okay, initially couldn't accept the fact that they changed almost 2/3 of the main casts although Steven Ma is like my biggest idol ever. OMG, and with Wayne Lai inside, I am sure he is able to make this series good! Saw the trailer and stuffs, it looks good certainly! And Yumiko does look cute! I've gotten the themesong! Request for it if you want it!

The ratings for Survivors' Law II ain't good, I hope this would be a successful sequel!!!!!!!!

Magazine editor-in-chief Kwo Pik, Ophelia (Liza Wang) will never save face for her superiors, nor will she come to the defense of her subordinates. She shows no mercy to her enemies and does everything she can to keep her son Kwo Tak, Kyle (Bosco Wong) under her thumb. She is an iron lady who can’t afford to lose anything. As she is still full of confidence that she can determine her son’s future life, a plain, geeky-looking girl named Chow Lai Man (Myolie Wu) managed to become the wife of Kyle. Later Lai Man resigns from the police force and chooses to work as a magazine journalist, thus leading to even more conflicts between her and Ophelia.

Yeah, I liked War of the In Laws A LOT, but I have no idea why I do not have any urge to continue with part 2, and I actually watched Survivor's Law instead [I have to be selective in watching Tvb series this year because I am taking an extremely crucial exam which could determine my life]. Part 1 was seriously cute and a sweet relationship between Bosco and Myolie. It was a BIG BIG hit in 2005, which was why this series continues.

However, I always feel sequels normally don't really work well... I think it is me, I feel especially in cases like whereby "Ancient goes Modern", it's just something I cannot accept. Take Square Pegs as an example, the Ancient one definitely looks more realistic as compared to the Modern one, don't you all agree with me? The ancient one was just so sweet and very naive kind of feeling, while the modern one is a totally different story, it's just impossible to label it as "naive" and very "kiddy" kind of feel [I don't know how to say it!!]. Virtues of Harmony is also another example. The ancient one was like "OMG such a big hit" and the modern one wasn't as good as the ancient one I believe in terms of ratings and stuff too...

I will definitely catch this series, at the end of the year when I get more "free". HAHA. After all, I am a fan of War of the In Laws, it's just something I cannot miss. And the trailer looks kinda good, although part one is more attractive to me. Another thing that makes me want to watch it, is suprisingly the subthemes! They indeed have nice lyrics!

Survivor's Law 2 Introduction.

The introduction!

Righteous young man Sun Man Kwan (Kenneth Ma) came from the grassroots. To put the doctrine “All men are equal before the law” to the test, he studied law at university. After a few years of hard work, he has finally become a lawyer. Although his boss appreciates his unconventional way of doing things, his colleagues always try hard to avoid him. His personal assistant, Cheuk Wai Ming, Vincent (Sammul Chan), is an exception. Wai Ming admires Man Kwan’s out-of-the-box style and always lends him a hand on the quiet. As time goes by, the two men become good friends.

Man Kwan defies the rich and the influential. In light of this, he looks down upon Suen Lei Lei (Ella Koon) - who is also a lawyer - for what she does and how she behaves. Their frequent co-operations very often are full of hilarious episodes. In Lei Lei’s eyes, Man Kwan is no different than a rascal who leads a lousy life and who always dallies with women. Later on, Lei Lei is attacked and almost gets killed because of a lawsuit. Fortunately, Man Kwan comes to her rescue. Not until then does she realize she loves him indeed, but fate has it that she and Wai Ming have become lovers for the sake of her father’s business. Meanwhile, just when their relationship is at a standstill, Wai Ming learns that his ex-girlfriend, Cheng Choi Yuk (Selena Li), is pregnant with his child.

My comments:

Seriously I envy people who live in countries whereby they get to watch TVB series first hand. Because in Singapore, this kind of thing doesn't happen. Well, this series is directed by Producer Kwan, which in turn might recieve, not so good comments [you see the "failure" To Grow with Love and you know what I mean.]

Well, it's true I initially could not accept the fact that they changed most of the casts and left Sammul alone, and I could not accept the fact that Ella became the leading actress, I could not accept the fact that they used Kenneth Ma [he is my idol, don't get me wrong, see my reason later] as the male lead after putting him in jail in the first season [well, he acted as a pervert who tried to molest Myolie]

Hope this series is not shabby, because I am pinning a lot of hopes on it. At least, it looks more watchable than War of the In Laws 2. And I am still wondering who is the first male lead... Because I read the intro, Kenneth is the lead, but when I see the way they arrange their name, Sammul's name is the first...

Tvb Series Men Don't Cry.

Introduction

With the support of the head of the Police Authority, Guangzhou's top villian Ho Kei Kin (Dayo Wong) hence bulllies everyone around him. He is so manipulative that he explored every possible means in his fight for a spinster's house with the buck toothed owner Ling Yuk Tsui (Cecilia Yip). Yuk Tsui is fortunate to have met the honourable and upright Wong Fei Hung (Dominic Lam) and talks about marriage soon after. However, they do not end up in a marriage [oops spoiler].

Only interested in stirring up troble, Kei Kin tried to recruit more students for his wicked kung fu school by portraying himself as the hero who had defeated one of the Ten Tigers of Guangdong, Wong Kei Ying, who is Fei Hung's father. For the sake of fairness, Fei Hung is resolved to have a contest with Kei Kin. Unfortunately, Kei Kin manages to make Fei Hung by threatening him with his late father's anchestal tablet. Misunderstood that Fei Hung is a useless coward, Yuk Tsui decides to call off the engagement. Kei Kin quickly grabs the chance and begins to woo Yuk Tsui.

Yuk Tsui decides to transfer her house to him after "spending a night with" him, with much persuasion too. After Kei Kin's evil plans succeeded, he immediately shows his true colors. Yuk Tsui becomes homeless and has to put up at Po Chi Lam, the martial arts club set up by Fei Hung.

Soon after, Kei Kin lost his power and becomes the subject of hatred and contemption. With nowhere else to go, he decides to turn to Fei Hung and asks to be his appretice. Fei Hung tries his best to bring out the "humanism" in Kei Kin for which he received a lot of critisms for. Despite Fei Hung's support, he refuses to repent, and becomes worse than before, leaving Po Chi Lam in a state of total chaos. However, Kei Kin's plan was to...

My Review

Basically, like many other series, it has it's sad, happy and make-you-angry parts. This is a comedy, so there is more comical [is there such a word] elements in this series. This series rating for the rating was extremely bad for the first week because of them saying about racism problems and such. I beg to differ, because the only problem with the first few episodes is that it is kinda lame, that's it. Sorry I didn't take much screenshots this time because I don't like pausing and stuff. Only took those scenes I liked.

Well, I got surprised by the first episode when I heard the themesong. It's so funny! It's sung and written by Dayo Wong. If you want the themesong, can always ask me!

And the Evil Kin's words in every beginning of the episode, which is just like giving you a mini introduction of what is gonna happen in that episode and stuff.
For example in the first episode, he said: 有恩不报不算差，又仇不报是人渣。
which means: you have a gratitude for someone, you don't repay that person, it's alrite, but if you want to take a revenge but you don't, you are useless.

The rest? It's up to you all to find out.

Why did I watch this series?
#1: Dayo Wong never disappoints me.
#2: It's very interesting that Wong Fei Hung is not the main character this time.
#3: Basically nothing else, but I still wanted to watch it. HAHA.

After watching this series:
#1: To err is human, am I right?

#2: Basically kinda disappointed with the ending of this series. But one good thing it's that the ending is not like any typical TVB series of "happy endings"

#3: I think Benz Hui and Dayo Wong shares an amazing chemsitry as father and son [although they are not blood related]
For e.g:

Well, this part is about how Benz Hui want to get back to Dayo even though he knows how bad a person he is, and he tries to be mad to gain Dayo's attention. But nevertheless, Dayo still treats him evily.

For e.g:

Their father-son relationship somehow started because of money matters. Benz Hui was greedy and thus tries to get close to him. Which is very funny because deep down in their heart, they dislike each other yet they have to act as if they are really close.

#4: It's intriguing, angry-ing [haha couldn't find another word] and sad at the same time. The first episode showing how stupid Cecilia was to believe Dayo was also extremely funny.
For e.g:

When Dayo knocked off Cecilia's front buck tooth [gd thing, cos they are really ugly] accidentally because he fell in love with her and doesn't want her to be a spinster and there was an accident. Ya, then Dayo pretended to knock off his front tooth to show is apology for Cecilia which turned out to be radish pieces. Laugh and get angry at the same time.

For e.g:

After that Cecilia got herself a doctor to have her teeth fixed, but that guy is a pervert, making Cecilia rather not fix her teeth. Thus Dayo tricked him and helped Cecilia get fake teeth. This scene is super funny because Dayo was acting as a female prostitude and stuff. HAHAHA.

#5: I really liked the way Dayo Wong's character is developed. It is not easy to act as a bad guy on the outside yet a good guy on the inside. It requires a lot of feelings and GOOD acting. Dayo Wong succeeded in portraying this role perfectly.

For e.g:

He was a bad man, and thus he recieved his retribution and got knocked off the mountain. Well, this scene is funny at the same time because Wong Fei Hung passed by and actually kicked him because he thought it was a tree branch. Felt a little sad for Dayo, although he was a bad man.

For e.g:

He was bad, he wanted to harm Wong Fei Hung, but got himself into trouble instead.

For e.g:

For example, when he finally realised that Wong Fei Hung is really a good man [he never believes the presence of good man], he got a big fat shock that he became a little crazy and keeps staring at Fei Hung. Since then, he became a good man.

Well, here is the end of my review, not long, because I don't want to release too much spoilers over here. I recommend this series to you guys reading this, because I feel this is the best Anniversary series out of the 3 this year. Even if you don't trust me, trust the ratings.

TVB Series 2007: The Overall Review.

Wow, it's quite a surprise to me that I actually watched so many TVB dramas this year because I actually lead an extremely busy year this year.. Of course, there are some series I skipped... Here is my mini review on this year's TVB series.. Enjoy! (:

The players: Steven Ma, Bernice Liu, Ron Ng, Shirley Yeung, Yueh Wah, Michelle Mai, Kate Tsui, Kenneth Ma..
Mini intro: About illegal gambling and how Steven, Ron and Bernice managed to solve this case, with of course, big sacrifices made.
Why did I watch: For 4 people - Steven, Ron, Bernice, Kenneth
Why should you watch: Shirley and Michelle's outstanding performances as the BIG BADDIES!
Thumbs down: Sorry Kate fans. Her performance is only so-so, cos she can't really cry..
Status: Ranked 8th in average rating chart [33 points] and peak points chart [37 points].

The players: Michael Tse, Sunny Chan, Bernice Liu, Angela Tong, Yeuh Wah...
Mini intro: Mixing marriages, and all the weird stuff..
Why did I watch?: For Bernice.
Why should you watch?: It has a unique storyline - because it's weird. And you do not know who is the real baddie until the last episode, which is actually interesting.
Thumbs down: It gets so complicated that sometimes you do not understand what is going on, and why you are actually watching it.
Status: Sadly warehoused.

The players: Nancy Sit, Joey Leung, Linda Chung, Yuen Wah, Winnie Yeung, Joel Chan..
Mini Intro: About this young fairy sneaking into the mortal world to find true love.
Why did I watch it: I am quite interested after watching the hilarious trailer
Why should you watch it?: Joey Leung, Yuen Wah and Nancy Sit are the reasons. I think they are hilarious and they have really good chemistry. I feel that it's lighthearted and it shouldn't be warehouse no matter how ridiculous it is...
Thumbs down: The acting can be a bit exaggerated at times. And the story is plain ridiculous.
Status: Warehoused.

The players: Bosco Wong, Kevin Cheng, Bernice Liu, Shirley Yeung, Sharon Chan, Wayne Lai, Johnson Lee..
Mini intro: About 2 friends who gets into a sacred sword sect and realising that their sect leader is actually a big bad guy.
Why did I watch?: For 3 people - Kevin, Bosco, Bernice
Why should you watch: It's extremely funny. And Wayne Lai is simply superb.
Thumbs down: Goofiness level - HIGH. And I hated the way the drama ended.
Status: It came out of the warehouse and the average rating is 31 points with peak points of 35.

The Players: Moses Chan, Louise Lee, Susanna Kwan, Ha Yu, Michelle Mai, Bosco Wong, Linda Chung, Tavia Yeung...
Mini intro: It's about a rich family who owns an abalone shop, with all the family politics and money.
Why did I watch?: For 3 people - Raymond, Moses, Bosco. And it was an instant hit.
Why should you watch: First 16 episodes of fun and laughter, the rest of the series with lots of crying and touching moments. The veterans are basically amazing. without them the drama won't succeed.
Thumbs down: Yoyo Mung's character in this series.
Status: Ranked FIRST in the average rating chart with 40 points and peak points of 48 [still couldn't win War of the Genders of 50 points] and won best series in TVB 40th anniversary.

The players: Lai Gigi, Cheng Kevin, Paul Chun, Ben Wong, Evergreen Mak, Natalie Tong, Astrid Chan..
Mini Intro: It is about a girl who is "crippled" on the right hand, and her life.
Why did I watch it?: It was airing on my local tv I decided to give it a shot, because I never even thought of watching it..
Why should you watch it?: You are too bored.
Thumbs down: It's freaking boring I stopped at the 5th episode.
Status: I haven't found the ratings and stuff yet, but the rating is not that good although the leads are Best Actor and Actress in previous TVB anniversaries...

The players: Sheren Tong, Cecilia Yip, Kiki Sheung, Tong Leila, Kenneth Ma, John Chiang...
Mini intro: It's about 3 housewives and 1 househusband managing the stress they get everyday.
Why did I watch?: For Kenneth Ma, and the poster actually attracted me.
Why should you watch: Because of all the actors and actresses outstanding performances! And it's a very meaningful show. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THE SERIES!!!!!! John Chiang and Sheren Tang did an excellent job especially! The sudden twist in Kenneth Ma's wife murder case, and the HAPPY ENDING!!! I love happy endings!!
Thumbs down: Sorry but I can't find a reason yet. Maybe the irritatiness of those rich tai-tais which make you wanna slap them.
Status: Ranked 6th in average rating chart [34 points]. Ranked 2nd in peak rating chart [42 points].

The Players: Damien Lau, Michael Miu, Sheren Tong, Jessica Hester Hsuan, Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam...
Mini intro: About 3 brothers and those cars.
Why did I watch?: For 2 people - Raymond Lam and Ron Ng
Why should you watch: The chemistry between Charmaine [I like her character in the drama] and Raymond. I think Myolie and Feng Shao Feng make a good pair. And the chemistry between Sheren and Michael is actually quite amazing, but I don't know how to describe it.
Thumbs down: I find it tooooo long. And the dubbing is quite bad so I got a little bit uncomfortable. And sorry Toby fans, I still dun understand why she was in the top 5 for most improved actress.
Status: Ranked 7th in average ratings chart [33 points] and peak points chart [39 points].

The players: Louisa So, Crystal Tin, Tong Leila, Sunny Chan, Ben Wong, Jack Wu
Mini intro: About 3 sisters who backstab each other and doing a lot of things behind each other's back.
Why did I watch?: For Jack Wu.
Why should you watch: Louisa So can be really bad, and you will pity and love Crystal Tin
Thumbs down: I stopped watching this at episode 10. Sorry.
Status: Warehoused.

Mini intro: Fatherly love.
Why did I watch?: Okay, I got attracted by the poster.
Why should you watch?: For Wong Hei [auntie!! HAHA], Bobby, Wong Hei, Ha Yu and Jacky's amazing chemistry as "Fathers and Sons". The storyline is simply good.
Thumbs down: I wished Wong Hei and Halina Tam didn't get back together...
Status: Ranked 2nd for the average rating chart [37 points] and 3rd in the peak points chart [40 points].

Mini intro: Organic food and loving the environment.
Why did I watch?: For the sake of wasting my time during exams.
Why should you watch: Sunny Chan's character [impossible to find people like this], for the first time I liked Christine Ng, Chris Lai is just so cute.
Thumbs down: Easily forgotten

Why did I watch?: For 2 people - Steven Ma and Bernice Liu.
Why should you watch?: Steven and Bernice chemistry [not the best, but still good], the dancing [wow], and Fala's amazing improvment in acting. Kate and Matthew's chemistry is actually NOT BAD, but still dun really like Kate's acting... And for the first time I don't dislike Claire.
Thumbs down: Wayne constantly trying to ruin Steven's career.
Status: Average ratings of 31 points and peaks at 36 points.

Mini intro: About an extremely BAD guy who eventually found his family and love, and realising that there is actually compassion in this world.
Why did I watch?: Well, I am not a huge Dayo fan, but everytime he has a TVB series, I will rent it instantly. It's the feeling that caused me to watch I guess...
Why should you watch: Many reasons. Dayo and Benz chemistry!!!!!! You will develop a love-hate relationship with Dayo, he's just so lovely. Dominic Lam and Cecilia Yip are funny.
Thumbs down: I didn't really like the ending although it's not typical. Yes, I love happy endings.
Status: Anniversary series number 1. Average ratings of 29 points and peaked at 39 points. [Wow what a difference. The last episode seemed to attract quite a load of people.] Well, the bad average ratings is thanks to the second week when the ratings just dropped like nobody business due to the immense complaints it recieve.

Mini Intro: The story of 2 cops? I can't find a better description.
Why did I watch?: For 2 people - Kevin and Moses.
Why should you watch: It's NC-16!! Like for the first time! Woo hoo!!! Okay, that's not a reason. Okay, watch it for Gigi! [for the first time I am saying this.] She's lovable. Oh ya! And for Kevin!!! He's acting gay and kinda a baddie.
Thumbs down: The sad cases of people who died in this series. Frankly speaking, I didn't think that series should be an anniversary series...
Status: Anniversary series number 2. Average ratings of 32 and peaked at 33 points, which is during the last episode.

The players: Bobby Au Yeung, Angela Tong, Toby Leung, Raymond Wong, Power Chan, Patrick Tang, Winnie Yeung, Mimi Lo...
Mini Intro: The story of a couple who got married out of impulse, and they ended up in a divorce. After that they gradually realise their love for each other.
Why did I watch?: It was airing on my local tv, so I watched it.
Why should you watch it?: The quarrelling between Angela and Bobby is really worth watching cos the both of them are simply funny.
Thumbs down: The drama gets boring towards the end, I didn't even finish watching it.
Status: Average points of 28, peaking at 31 points. The ratings is quite bad isn't it?

The players: Charmaine Sheh, Jordan Chan, Michael Tse, Sharon Chan, Yuen Wah, Kara Hui..
Story: The story of a girl, who has to be in the court because of her father, and she met the love of her life, but is unable to be together with him because of various reasons, and the interruption of bad officials make things worsen.
Why did I watch it?: It was airing on my local tv
Why should you watch it?: The court cases are really nice to watch. And Michael Tse is amazing. (:
Thumbs down: It gradually gets boring to the end as they talk a lot about the imperial court which I am not interested in. And the grieviences Michael Tse get actually pisses me off as an audience a lot.
Status: Quite sad for this anniversary series, because the finale breaks the record of having the lowest peak point for a finale [28 points] for an anniversary series.. Peaks at 32 points, with only a so-so average rating of 29 points.

Series I didn't watch

Why didn't I watch?: Quite a bad response, and I already said I had to be selective at that point of the year.
Status: This is Linda's first series as the first female lead and Michael's first series as the first male lead too!! Average rating of 27 points, specially filmed in collaberation of Chinese New Year!

The players: Ron Ng, Sammul Chan, Michael Tao, Sonija Kwok, Joey Yung, Kate Tsui...
Why didn't I watch?: I haven't watched The Academy yet due to some clashes in my time and the airing time. [I don't rent TVB series in the past]. I do not want to end up not understanding the series.
Status: Quite a failure compared to The Academy [the 3rd highest rating series in 2005] with average ratings of 31 points and peaked with 39 points [it was quite funny that the ratings peaked because of Sonija's death scene.]

Why didn't I watch: Just some personal reasons. Haiz, call myself a Steven, Benny and a small Selena fan.

Why didn't I watch: This poster reminds me too much of Korean series, and I don't watch Korean series.. It looks sad to me so I didn't watch. Please tell me this series contain comedy elements, and I will watch it.
